By the sound of it and im only going off what info has been given, this can be narrowed to about three possibilities.
One, this is a genetic mutation of the seed itself which to a certain degree is in natures hands and can never be 100% Controlled.
Two, variation in each phenos nutrient requirements or tolerance.
Three, an external chemical toxicity eg old plastic pot seeping chems or any other obsqure mishap
But seeing as you saw one defomed from the very get go, we can assume its a genetic mutation.
I wouldnt worry too much man every now and then theese things show up even in the priciest of strains!
