my first runin with bud rot

yeah you can make oils edibles etc.... but bud rot should not be smoked.... control humidity and temps... 80 is about ideal for those mold spores to grow.... large tigh budded colas tend to retain mosture inside the bud structure... espcially when nights are cool and damp (dew sticks inside)

control humidity and increase air flow... beyond that... if you have damp weather coming, harvest early to beat it.... theres one product... cant remeber what its called... its like bud rot stop or something... its ok to use right up to harvest since its organic spores or something.... bacillus subtillus maybe?

lots of good circulation fans... day and night..... for starters... molds dont like fresh oxygenated airflow...

the only way i spoted it was a couple leaves at top of plant was turning brown so i pulled on it and was soft.i seperated buds to see a little mold at bud spot on 2 small nuggets.i cut the whole colla and opened it and cut away everything that was bad.

awwwwww man thats aweful! so sorry, that really blows. The sad part is, it'll happen to most of us on here at some point or another.
