my first grow

I ended up mixing 100L of scotts potting mix with 25L of composted cow manure and 10L of perlite. I also plan on feeding EWC tea and later on down the line (if they dont die in the next couple days) if they need a dose of nitrogen I think i'll just take off some sugar cane mulch and add some composted chicken manure.

I noticed that one of the plants has an ant infestation. is there any cures to this?

I had a bunch of ants on my pots last summer and I used cinnamon on the top of the soil and they left the pots alone from them on.

Wow that's cool did you have to use a lot on top of the soil of the cinnamon or was it just a little bit or did you make sure it was all on top real good like a like a sugar shaker sprinkling it on top of the topsoil of your pot?

I put a thin layer on all the soil. Hard to say how much but I put enough that any ant had to walk on it to cross the soil. I think I also sprinkled a little ring around the base of each pot. It worked for the ants that were getting on mine. I read about it on a organic gardening forum. We get harvested ants here and they’ll strip a tree bare overnight, harvesting leaves for their nest. I don’t think it was then and I dont know if it’d work on them (kinda doubt it) but I have it a try and it worked for me.

i added a layer, maybe about an inch of cow manure. they seemed to take the transplant well and arent showing any signs of nute burn so i figured i may aswell. they will either love it or hate it, if they hate it ill just take off the layer of manure ive put on. i'll keep you guys posted on how they go haha

I've got a couple questions that you guys might be able to help me with rather than posting another thread.

They're in 30L pots. How much water should i put through at one time?

also, i bought some ewc tea and some liquid kelp. How often should I feed them this and what kind of dosage?

thanks

Depending on how dry the pots are , I grow in 27 liter and have a good feel for it . What you can do is use your fingers and dig down a bit to see when you find moist soil . to give you are rough idea , 2 to 3 inch dry I use 1 1/2 to 2 liters , -- but it can depend on your soil inputs to how much is retained further down and how fast the soil drains .

what do you guys think is wrong with it?
