2 x 4 x 7 Tent

6" Air Cooled Hood + Can Fan and Lite Filter

x2 Hurricane clip on fans for circulation

400w MH (dimmed to 300w for the first week or so) until pre flowers, and then I'll switch to 400w SHPS

x4 Dedoverde Haze Auto in 3 Gallon Smart Pots

Pro Mix HP CC with about 13% Perlite added (Mix has 12-18% perlite out of bag, and I believe 30% coco)

Plan to do 24/0 Light schedule for the entire grow, unless the ladies tell me otherwise.

Using Tang's Feeding Schedule

Hey everyone, my beans finally arrived today, after a week of sleepless nights, filled with prayers to the God of Inept Customs Agents. They're currently germinating, and I had planned to not start my journal until after sprouting, but I have a few questions that I'd like to get out of the way now.

My beans are currently sitting in a cup of distilled water, once they sink to the bottom (or after 24 hrs ) I'll plant them directly into the medium.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Hey bro yea most count day 1 from when they break ground, you could put a clear plastic cup upside down over them and cut a hole for air. Seran wrap would work too, id just be worried about suffocating them.
Never used advanced nutes but im sure voodoo at 1/6 strength will be fine.
Good luck buddy, keep the updates and questions coming

Ok thanks man, I'll probably just use saran wrap and poke some holes. They've been soaking for about 24 hours and no tap roots yet, but they've sunk to the bottom and swelled up. Gonna give it another 4-6 hours and in they go.

Pre soak the soil and throw them in they are ready ..Put a cup over them till they push through the top of soil..Good Luck!

Thanks, but I'm afraid I may have screwed up. Planted them around 32 hours ago, and I haven't had them covered because the soil was pretty moist and RH was 51-55%, I read that covering the pots can cause mold problems and decided not to at first, but last night the RH dropped to around 46% as the top of the soil dried out. I misted the top of the soil again today and covered them with clear plastic cups. Initially I planted them all around 1/4 of an inch, brushed some soil over, lightly pressed, and for some reason one of the seeds surfaced overnight and got exposed to my 400w MH, it didn't seem like the root had emerged yet. I pressed it back into the soil, but I'm assuming at least that one is a goner. If I can't get at least 2-3 of these to sprout going to just practice with bag seed on my next try u.u

Ok, so I guess those plastic cups and the extra humidity did wonders, as I woke up today to find 4 sprouts. However, only one of them is looking healthy. I'm not really able to post pictures at the moment, and I don't believe it would come through clearly because they're so tiny. The back left and back right aren't fully above ground yet, I can see an upside down U shaped stem above the soil, does this mean the plant curled in on itself? or will it continue on it's way and grow upright? The front right has popped up, shed it's husk and looks pretty healthy, the front left has popped but the seed husk is still attached to one side and seems to be weighing the tiny plant down (it's bent over to one side).

So for the two in the back, should I give them another day to see if they fully break ground, or try to dig in now to assist them?

The front left is looking a bit pale and sickly (hunched over to one side, the side that has the husk attached), should I use a dropper to get some water on the husk to help it shed?

I've removed the cups from the two in the front that have fully surfaced, and I've left the cups on the two in the back.

p.s. From what I've been reading, the two U shaped sprouts are still breaking ground and should right themselves. The one with the husk still attached is the seed that surfaced prematurely and I had to press back under, assuming it was planted too shallow, just dripped some water on the husk and I'm hoping it can be salvaged.

Yea man give them some extra time. If the seed casing is still stuck a day after theyre standing up you can take it off as long as youre very careful. I only keep the cup on them for a couple of days, the humidity in my room is nearly always 40-45% and ive never lost a seedling yet. Dont be tempted to overwater either and you should be out of the woods buddy

Yeah I was spazzing for no reason, I actually used water and tweezers to get the seed casings off, 2 of the four were still in tact. They're all looking pretty good aside from the one, it had a tiny piece of what looked like a membrane from the casing on it still that was keeping the leaves bound together, but I took it's still a little pale compared to the others, but I think it will make it. The sprouts that were laying flat have perked up over the last few hours and are now upright and looking healthy. This stuff dries out fast, even now, I did a light watering yesterday and 2" under the soil is still damp, but barely. My guess is they'll need another litre tomorrow, but should be good until then.

I was mostly spazzing because I top watered over the seeds after planting, instead of just misting them, but it seems like no damage was done. Pro Mix HP ftw.

My 300w MH is about 22" from the seedlings, but even at 16" I can hold my hand under the light for several minutes will no discomfort, would it be safe to move it down a bit?

I'll post some pics in a few days.

Mine latest 2 seedlings are 6 days old and im still just spraying the soil 3 times a day maybe 1 watering of 200ml a day but ill be upping it a bit now. You might be able to move it a little closer just keep an eye for heat stress/light burn use 600w so i like to leave alot more distance. I dont mind them stetching at all though. Looking forward to pics mate

Yeah was worried that I may have been over watering or keeping the soil too moist from the beginning, but everything seems to be going pretty well, and this mix dries out super fast. I decided to not dim my light and run it at 400w at 24" for now.
