Ok guys starting my first grow journal and need some support.

I put the beans in a cup of water and let them set for 24 hrs. I then did the paper towel trick to finish them up. After 2 days in the paper towel this is what I have. (See attached pics)

for my lighting I took some PVC pipe and built my light fixture. I'm using 8ea 23w 2700k soft white cfls.

I put the little ladies in the small bio-degradable cups as shown in the pics and watered them with tap water that I let set out over night and ph tested it to 6.5.

How are things looking? Any advice? I really appreciate any and all comments.

Thanks guys for the support
Pigman

Looking good. Man that strain sounds like deliciousness. I need to go look that one up. I will keep up with yours. Keep us updated. Welcome to the show. TMM

Hi there, looks good and good luck.

Just a thought about those peat cups. I use them for my veggies and planted tomatoe and chilli seeds yesterday actually. However I'd put those cups inside a plastic pot also or they get dry, they will make transplanting easier from there.

Is that strain an auto? If so I'd go straight into my final pot and not transplant.

I have 5 strawberry cheesecake beans from heavy weight seeds myself. They are feminized photos. I should be planting my beans within the next two weeks. Iplan on 2
In dwc under led . Good luck with your grow. I will be watching your progress. It appears all of your beans germinated, that is reassuring.

Thanks for the input. Yes they are autos. I had originally figured that those peat cups would fall to pieces before it was time to move them to there 5gal buckets.

Should i I go ahead and leave them in the peat cups and let them finish sprouting? Or should I go ahead and try to get them in there buckets?

Yes I started 5 seeds and all 5 have germed so I am pleased. I got these beans from herbies, couldn't be any happier with there product so far. I only started with these 5 for a trial and error grow. I'm hoping to get the learning curve out of the way with this grow so wish me luck!

Ok guys so this is day 4 since I germed the seeds. So far 2 have come up out of the soil and 1 of them have very small second set of leaves. Sorry for the blurry pics... Hard to take good pics of the ladies when they are so small lol!

Anyways guys please share your input I'm open to suggestions!

Looks nice, although I use LED and can't say if your light source will be all that's needed. Others will chime in. As far as the peat pots, in the future, plant directly into your final pot with autoflowers (or sprout first and put the sprouts in). The life cycle is so short, you don't want any interruptions in growth, such as the shock of transplanting. Or if you were planning on placing the pot directly in the soil, you don't want the wait time for the pot to decompose and roots to find their way out. Anyway, just my 2 cents. Others might disagree, I don't know.

I like your use of PVC. Pretty cool. Quite a fun project!

If they're autos I'd plant peat cups in your final pots today.

Those peat cups alone do disintegrate (eventually its the point of them tbh) so I think they should also be used with a pastic pot around, if and when transplanting you just slide out the peat (which roots will grow through) and bury.

(EDIT.... Alaskan may have point about bottom of pots with autos, though I think they'd bust through. Perhaps fingerpop the bottoms, then you've got a biodegradable tap root funnel!)

pigman I don't want to sound like a %$# wit , but why the cfls lights than say a led light , seems like you have gone to a lot of trouble with you room that looks great , not that I know anything about cfls lights :dunno:
