I truly thought I was helping Mugwamp. Mugwamp truly thought he was helping someone he knew. This is not bot driven this is humans discizing themselves and are good at it once they have the right bait to lure you in.

Thanks for warning those that didn’t know! Guess I coulda shared the story but my mom had her Facebook hacked same way a while back! Someone using a name of a trusted friend who “lost their account” and needed help getting back in! They then send a request to FB, IG whatever the site may be saying they forgot password! I need to send a link to your phone to get back into my account BUT IN REALITY THEY ARE SENDING A FORGOT PASSWORD REQUEST ON YOUR ACCOUNT! Once u share it they are now in your account! Luckily my mom got her FB account back BUT NOT BEFORE SOMEONE SENT THEMSELVES $200 FROM IT FIRST!

I had the same thing happen with my instacart shopper account but luckily they couldn’t do anything as it was 1st day of new week and I only had $24 that could be cashed out and you gotta add an actual debit card onto file to do instant cashout so woulda identified themselves had they done that! Mainly just cost me 36hrs for instacart to investigate the whole situation!

Def some shady ass bastards these days!

I have to say though, every time I've had to change passwords on different sites, they always ask you for your password first. That's why I didn't think anything of it so Instascam need to sort that out, not that you can contact the fuckers to let them know, well I couldn't find a way

Since my scam account came from Mugwamps actual page I truly thought I was helping a fellow member with a brand new phone get back onto there page. It looked so innocent the whole scam. It is a first for me since 1996 that i was scammed. I like to think iam smart enough but this one flew right over me. They put an ad in my story on my scammed IG site that is legit it takes you right to there site I can phone them. She is a bit coin mentor using my story to push her ads how bold. Iam sticking with IG they the scammers are not going to dictate what i do and dont do it was a hard learned lesson that will never happen to me again. And if I was not sleep deprived at the time I might have caught this one.

@F.N. - thanks for the reps. I was actually wondering my account was still there after that long hiatus, but the pics. And noone messed with it.
things just happen. What would be the one thing that really identified him as who he is, better, what would have made the scam blow up? I guess you didn't have a real chance not to fall for it.I think you couldn't have any really safe ground to really act on. And there will not be a final solution to this.
So you decided with confidence to help - nothing wrong with that - better yet, losing some account just because of an ignorant admin/procedure is much worse.

Apparently you shoulda got an email from Instagram security notifying u someone changed the email address on your account! If so find that email cuz it says you should be able to revert the change back to original email! Then u do the reset password etc to get account back!

Yeah I've tried all that mate, but because the cheesy fuckwit has changed the passwords, email and phone number and added 2 step verification, it won't revert back now

this is getting crazy now and I don't think anyone should trust a link from anyone on Instagram as I got all the same messages but even if someone said there's only you I can ask id say ask someone who knows you personally no way would I even consider it but I'm a suspicious type . also here's what I posted to my followers warning people .so going forwards just be careful as these people do this 24/7 as its a well known trick to get them permission to lock your account
