Grow Mediums Mr and Mrs AutoOtto's medical cannabis Autoflower grow diary

8/31/13: Just got done doing a bucket change on all 6 NL autos, the 3 Rainbow Jones clones, and the Lemon Juice Express and the Sour Diesel auto, 11 buckets in all:

4 of the NL in week 2-3 of flower gave them week 3 nutes, the other 2 NL in week 4 veg and week 1 bloom respectively, fed them accordingly. It seems like this NL auto by vision seeds is an exceedingly forgiving plant to new growers, and contingent on the future smoke report, I give it my recommendation to any AF newbies. I made mistakes which stunted these plants in multiple ways, and the NL's seemed to pause their biological clock during the difficulties and resume it when the issues were dealt with to produce plants which if they only stretch half again their size during flower will be about a meter tall on average, and have the potential to produce several ounces apiece. By contrast, the other 2 auto strains which survived my tender care early on did not pause their biological clock, they were programmed to finish in a certain time, and they were determined to do so. I am now feeding them both week 6 bloom nutes and expect to harvest them in about 2 weeks, it'll be a miracle if I get 1/2 ounce between them, but it'll be dank, they both smell and look delicious! The Lemon Juice Express (smells nice and lemony, trichs still clear to cloudy)

And the G13 Labs Sour Diesel auto, fruity, feul-y and sour, in that order:

As for the NL autos, they're very bushy and when you overlook the canopy:
9639602375_56ea1cfb46_m.jpg

it's very easy to miss the trees for the forest, so I pulled two of the better performers out of formation so you can get a better idea of how they're coming along, the one on the right is going to make more of a christmas tree shape from the look of it, while the one on the left seems to be more typical of the growth structure of most of the plants we have of this strain, it's growing in more of a shrubbery shape. Ni!!!!

As for the Boss Hogg and the Kandy Kush clones we dropped roots in the res on a week ago? Let's see how they've come along, we started them in a diluted solution of compost tea containing microbes beneficial to the plants, and predatory to plant parasites for 3 or 4 days, then added veg A and B (at clone level dose) from the new nutrient line we're trying out going forward on our new hydro plants, Heavy 16. Just a week ago these were rooted clones with maybe a dozen, dozen and a half root strands pulled through the net pots into the res, hanging down like lifeless white ponytails, and now....

Just went and read the descriptions for both of these strains on the Attitude and all I can say is I'm more than excited to have them both in the lineup!! Finally, more pics from the mother room, the light over these girls had to be raised a little tonight. I know I said earlier that I thought the Goji sexed, but I'm not so sure now, hoping to get at least one good Mom from these 2 non-feminized seeds:

The Brooklyn Mango is just as tall as the tallest Goji, and growing very vigorously! Plus when you rub her stalk she smells dank!

That Sweet Deep Grapefruit that had the damaged cotyledons is finally gaining some size now that she's being fed nutes, nice to see her snapping out of it:

Had some mite bites and bugs on Marsha, so yesterday I Azamaxed her good , and although I didn't see any problems on that front with the rest of the plants I sprayed them all thoroughly, used a whole gallon treated at the max recommended strength, and will do it again in a week, also sprayed around all the rooms and the entry thresholds and such. I was able to easily find mites on the underside of some leaves a couple days ago, now I looked for some time and couldn't find any, so that's good to see. Gonna do a fresh bucket change on the new photoperiod clones on Monday, also gonna try to get another thousie in the auto room so we can spread out the canopy properly and let everyone do their thing.

:peace: and one love

*Another First Grower Noob joining in lately* :)

Seems your girls had a hard start, but those auto NLs have made it up pretty nice - looking forward to see more of all your plants. Good work!

Thanks guys, very excited ourselves for the NL colas to get big, sticky, stinky, and hopefully even in some cases, purple (NL is known for having some purpling in some phenos) Been looking up some info on Vision seeds, and what is there seems encouraging, now I hope the genetics are as dank as they are forgiving. We'll know in a few weeks.

I know it's been a minute since I posted in this grow journal, but a full update is coming tomorrow, everything is coming along beautifully, huge swollen sticky stinky and chronic as we could've hoped for

9/21/13: I said there would be an update today, and by joe, I'm a man of my word so here it is. Since this is afn, I'm going to give a quick update on the autos tonight, and flesh things out more fully on what else is going on in the garden tomorrow or the next day. The reason why I haven't posted to this thread for 3 weeks is I simply have been too busy! I have had a lot of work trimming for friends with collectives, and it's been all I can do to keep up with that and our girls at the moment, speaking of the girls, it seems that due to either different phenos (or more likely, different degrees of stress I put on them, stunting them for different amounts of time) it looks at the moment like I have 2 plants in week 3 or so of flower, 2 in week 4 or 5 and one possibly ion week six. Here's some shots of the colas, and the room in general.

Hey all, the big finish is coming very soon, sorry haven't posted much lately, but been running around working like a chicken with my head cut off, both at home and abroad, but in all honesty, as absolutely gorgeous as these buds are getting I would've had some sweet nugporn love coming your way before now except for the fact that through the whole grow up to now, my camera has been adequate (barely) to convey what is going on well enough, but as far as nugporn goes, it's really not up to standards, it doesn't have a macro mode. But I do have buddies with nicer cameras, and as soon as I can get some good kit over here some truly luscious photos are coming your way! The Martian Kush I had in soil has been harvested, dried, and this coming tuesday will have a 2 week jar cure on it. Here's some photos of it to convey the inadequacy of my camera when it comes to nugporn:

I trimmed all the littles, because this being a soil plant, I wanted to get the biggest yield possible,

10064801734_68f9372446_m.jpg

in the future I'll try to avoid having little nugs as much as possible through more thorough pruning, but from now on, the little ones I do get will be going in the oil pile. Got an ounce of trimmed littles though, and total dry yield on the Martian Kush in 3 gallons of soil was 100 grams

I think I can safely and objectively say that this is some of the headiest bud it's been my privilege to vape or smoke in my 20+ years of cannabis consumption! It has a somewhat mild aroma, but the flavor (especially when vaped) is anything but mild, super intense artificially flavored lemon-lime (think 7up or Sprite) with a skunk funk to it. High is immediate and cerebral and you feel it almost instantly across your forehead and the bridge of your nose, if you know what I mean. Medicinal effects include it being above average as an expectorant (helping you cough up phlegm) and it is the strongest appetite stimulant of any cannabis I've ever tried, I have literally eaten a huge dinner and been absolutely stuffed just minutes prior to vaping a couple hits of Martian, and moments later I find myself looking in the fridge. This strain makes me nearly uncontrollably hungry almost every time I partake of it, so any patients out there needing appetite stimulation, I think I've found your strain. Excited for the upcoming smoke report and more proper nugporn coming your way from the NL autos,

Hop digity

in just a couple weeks the first of them will finish, and 4 of the other 5 are just weeks behind that one, with one straggler being weeks behind them but looks like it will still be a decent sized plant already got 4 auto seeds from the attitude to start when these ones finish, 3 fem A Little Kushy from Freedom of Seeds and a NL x Big Bud Fem freebie from World of Seeds, so you can look forward to that auto grow after this one, will probably pick up a little more auto seed here real soon to go in with those in a few weeks, suggestions are welcome!
So the Rainbow Jones clones you saw some time ago have moved from vegging in the auto room to being my first hydro photoperiod strain in the flowering room, picked the best looking 2 out of the 3 Jones clones I had, then put them into flower and trained them with the eye hooks and wires affixed to the net pot method

Can't believe they're already 3 weeks into flower now, will hit you guys with some more current pictures of them soon, just went down and looked before lights out, and the crystallization on these flowers already is mind blowing at this early stage of flower. one of our Goji OG's sexed in the mother room after about 2 months from seed (female) I put the other in the flower chamber with the Joneses, and right now, I'm leaning towards it being male, if it is, I'll flower it here as long as I feel it's safe, then I'll have my friend finish it at his house, safely away from my sensimellia because I'd like to collect the pollen, and try my hand at some autoflower breeding. So it's already time to push the Kandy Kush into the flower chamber with the Jones, already have those trained down to the net pots in the veg room, if I hadn't they would already be as tall as me, have some Boss Hogg to push in following them and SOOOO excited, we've been obtaining clones from friends (the Jones, the Kandy Kush and the Boss Hogg) but following those will be clones of our own strains we purchased, took the first just a week and a half ago off the Brooklyn Mango:

10065258673_56d713e46a_m.jpg

and they're already rooting, will have clones ready for buckets in a week. Finally we're almost ready to go through the approximately 40 strains we have mother seed for (we just got another big seed order recently, check it out)
