Most landrace sativa leaning auto

got some regular autos for seedmaking purposes sometime in the future... easy now!..

I've noticed that regular auto seeds seem to be more vigorous than feminized seeds in my experience. They almost always seem to germinate. I had some that weren't fully mature that I picked off some plants just to see how far along they were. I tossed them into a pot that had some soil in it and they all seem to have sprouted.

Good thing about autos on an outdoor grow is they are usually done before September where I am if planted on June 1st and moved outside by the second week. I live on an island so my outdoor humidity is in the 90's at night. Once September comes around and the rain starts it may go on for a week with no sun. PM and bud rot is a losing battle at that point. I have a couple of strains of autos from a breeder that result in very large plants. I've come to the conclusion that it would be worthwhile to cross them with some of the Fastbuds strains I have seeds of next year and just not grow photo plants at my location next year.

Are you located in the US or a different country? I am up near the Canadian border almost. Around 70 miles South.

I live in sunny South West UK!..summer here has been unusually sunny for the most part but it all turns to rubbish usually mid September... having grown photos previously it's a fun ride that always becomes a lottery as to whether plants finish in time especially fat indicas!..saying that long flowering sativas don't stand too much of a chance either!.. the more I see the more I like autos and sativa autos are win win!.. I was late to start this year, I could have had a crop down easily already and another one on it's way... but from the knowledge I'm gaining and reading here I feel I will crack it next outdoor season, in the meantime I shall try crossing a batch of reg/reg and reg/fem autos on a small scale, in my restricted grow setup saving a heap of £'s in the meantime... that said I don't mind paying for photo seeds as they can be cloned and mothers kept if I like what they have to offer... easy now!..

Hey all,
What are some examples of an autoflowering plant that is as close to a landrace sativa as possible?
I am thinking mostly the appearance. A tall pheno with vine like branching and superslim, long fingered fan leaves. Preferably sativa buds and hopefully a sativa heady high.
Great strains like ACE auto zamaldelica maintain the sativa high but still do look a tiny bit like a hybrid. Do any of the haze autos look exactly like a haze? I am especially interested in the lanky look and true sativa super slim fan leaves, no sign of BLD.
My suspicion is that the structure of a typical South American or SEA sativa requires a long grow cycle, and as soon as auto genes enter and flowering times are both reduced greatly and initiated automatically, you loose the pheno.
I would like to see an auto that looks just like a photo, only a bit smaller. Is that attainable? Do you know what I mean? An auto that looks exactly like what a Thai or Lao would look like when it is normally flipped, only with buds. After one or two months of veg, the photo would have a certain size and structure. Its appearance will be the same onwards, but it will grow bigger after the flip, and it will be too huge, and it will flower for an eternity. If an auto version of it could start flowering after a month, and finish two months later, looking like the original photoperiod of similar age, only with buds, I would be thrilled.
Can you show some photos of your autos that look like a down-scaled SEA sativa?

Hi,

You may want to check out La Buena Hierba.
He has a good range of sativa (dominant) autos.
For example:

LBH Autoflower Haze #1 -- Colombia/Mexico/ Thailand/ South India/ Original Haze from TFD

Auto La Gasolina -- Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze-SSSDH (OJDs cup winners cut) /Sour Diesel /BlueBerry / Meao Thai/ oldtimers Haze

Auto Sour Diesel Haze -- Sour Diesel/New York City Diesel /Chemdawg/autoflowering Haze

Auto Jack Herer -- Haze/ red skunk /Northern Lights #5 / Shiva Skunk

Auto Blueberry Haze -- Blueberry / Meao Thai /Haze

Super Auto Copacabana Haze -- Black Bahia Brasil sativa/ Copacabana Super-Auto/ Original Haze / Early Sativa

Auto Blazing Amnesia -- Amnesia / Neville’s Haze/ Blueberry

Auto Sativa CBD -- Landrace-sativa CBD / Finola /Russian ruderalis

Lots of good sativa / haze genetics, especially Thai (Meao Thai), and Brasilian, amnesia, nevil's, etc.

If you want to see what they look like, I've got one of the Auto Jack Herers outside guerilla grow right now.
She's at Day 79 (Flowering Day 42), took over a month to show flowers.

You can see those thin leaflets, and she put out some 11 fingered leaves as well.

I also have one of LBH's photos,
Thai Gold -- Landrace Thai/ Guerilla Gold

I'm growing sub-tropical, hot summers, afternoon thunderstorms, high humidity, short light hours even in summer.

Colas on the Jack are 12" to 18" long, I topped her twice.
Long spears, still got a few weeks to go I think.

Cheers @Shiva's Mistress for the recommendations I did like the look of the Thai strain especially your running in the outdoor photo thread... I'm interested as to how they turn out for you, good luck with that... I'm off to check your LBH thread now... thanx again... easy now!..

Thank you. Happy to recommend. LBH has been around AFN for years now.
He's one of the earliest auto haze / sativa breeders.
And these are haze / sativas for northern European climates (not me, but that's what he mainly does).

I live in sunny South West UK!..

I live just above the 45th parallel but I don't know how the climate differs from your location. I spent some time training with the Royal Marines back in the late 1970's in either Plymouth or Portsmouth in the dead of Winter and there was a light dusting of snow but I believe England's climate is much milder than where I am located. I spent a week in the Shetland Islands at the time and it was miserable wet and cold but no snow. We get snow from the end of October almost every year and the last snow usually falls at the end of April or first week of May some years. I still saw snow on the ground in places the first week of July the last two years where it drifted deep.

Hi, shivas mistress, so good to see you stop by! I have already seen your very decent autos in the outdoor thread! (So cool, planting urban guerilla style, hidden in plain sight and warding off stray dogs during night inspection. Respect.) Actually planned on asking you there on your experience with LBH autos, but haven't found out how to tag yet. Hoped you'd eventually see this thread and chime in.
La buena hierba is my benchmark.
I ordered his auto jack in spring, but due to the pandemic the shipment was delayed, and the LBH seeds will be sent this week. I won't risk ordering more seeds for a long time, so I was planning on using his auto jack as breeding material or my landrace auto project. I want to make my cambodian landrace strain finish outdoors. I also want to cross c99 with an auto. His auto jack herer seems a good match for both.
I honestly haven't seen anything better than La Buena Hierba when it comes to sativa autos. He is at the top, in my book. I couldn't get hold of his auto haze#1, that was my first choice for the cambodian cross. Thai gold won't finish in my northern climate, I fear. Nor copacabana haze.
The auto jack seems more moderate than a true SEA or haze, but still I am impressed with the leaves and structure of your plant. Really slender long finger leaves! Even a few 11 fingered. Great! Hope to find that in my phenos as well!
I would love to see more photos of it. I also admire your thai gold. Can't wait to see your harvest photos and smoke report!
