Yeah man I hear ya!.. I feel that is totally the way I am inclined to go...with early flowering sativas outdoors!.. if the quality of the high remains and the flowering process kicks in before the equinox then it's a massive win win... guerrilla style I'm not fussed if I have monsters tho!.. until harvest time of course!.. Not a bad position to be in tho... hehe.auto genetics have progressed so far since the lowryder days obviously, now it's all xxl etc.. and it's hard/harder to find decent regular landrace rudis to try and impart their characteristics on a specific plant... breeders seem to be chucking pollen hoping for the next big thing and getting lucky most times as long as the new seed name is catchy... I've made photo crosses myself for shits and giggles!..Hi Steppa,
I want an autoflowering version mostly for outdoors guerilla growing. I live too far north for other varieties to finish in time. Landrace SEA just looks awesome. Vines with huge finger leaves and sparser, more fluffy buds gives a more jungle feeling, which for some reason appeals more to me than a stout xmas tree with one thick cola. It is purely a personal preference. I like a jungle look. Auto makes it possible to grow outdoors, and yseeds can be used as backup for years, easier than clones for my sake.
I think the SEA, haze and african sativa high is superior to indica or hybrid high that you find in most autos.
I realize you can get that type of high in modern autos, ace auto malawi and auto zamaldelica are good examples. Surely mexican airline phenos as well. And you can get pure sativa high from indica looking landraces like the nep from heirloom.
I guess it has to do with the amount of myrcene content, as hobbes says in the autoflower conversational.
So I am not looking for a SEA landrace pheno for the high, mostly for the look.
Back then I never took pictures unfortunately, I've still got the grow setup now which is a redundant pair of speakers which I could obviously take a photo of!.. i used to run clones 12/12 in little pots sog style and get little budsicles as they were called!.. with indica dominant hybrids which tended to finish in a similar timeframe to standard autos!.. The Grinspoon, a single plant just stretched and stretched in flower under a screen and filled it with an abundance of little viney budsites!.. killer smoke I shall grow it again once I've racked up a decent stash of flowers first!.. it was such a wait!.. but worth it for sure... good luck with yours and to anyone that's growing it out, I admire you all!.. easy now...I would love to see photos of your micro grow grinspoon. That is quite a feat. Well done! I currently have a grinspoon in early flower. It is also in a 1 liter pot, but it is three feet high. It's been pollinated with an auto to make an outdoors version as well. 20 weeks of flowering, Steppa, amazing how you put up with that maintenance for so long..
