Hey all,
What are some examples of an autoflowering plant that is as close to a landrace sativa as possible?
I am thinking mostly the appearance. A tall pheno with vine like branching and superslim, long fingered fan leaves. Preferably sativa buds and hopefully a sativa heady high.
Great strains like ACE auto zamaldelica maintain the sativa high but still do look a tiny bit like a hybrid. Do any of the haze autos look exactly like a haze? I am especially interested in the lanky look and true sativa super slim fan leaves, no sign of BLD.
My suspicion is that the structure of a typical South American or SEA sativa requires a long grow cycle, and as soon as auto genes enter and flowering times are both reduced greatly and initiated automatically, you loose the pheno.
I would like to see an auto that looks just like a photo, only a bit smaller. Is that attainable? Do you know what I mean? An auto that looks exactly like what a Thai or Lao would look like when it is normally flipped, only with buds. After one or two months of veg, the photo would have a certain size and structure. Its appearance will be the same onwards, but it will grow bigger after the flip, and it will be too huge, and it will flower for an eternity. If an auto version of it could start flowering after a month, and finish two months later, looking like the original photoperiod of similar age, only with buds, I would be thrilled.
Can you show some photos of your autos that look like a down-scaled SEA sativa?

I'm guessing it'll be a bit of a pheno hunt for ya!.. I'm new to autoflower but looked into grabbing some more saliva leaning strains... got a mass shooter auto on the go outdoors and it's showing definite saliva traits... possibly due to the Mexican airlines (fastbuds) in the cross?... which may be worth looking into.... good luck on your quest... oh and pot size would determine height as this is almost 6 foot tall at day 63ish bonus is it's flowering nicely now...

Thanks for the photo, Steppa!
I am amazed by the size. The fan leaves are impressive as well. It's definitely a sativa leaning pheno.
I was considering buying mexican Airlines, but went with tangiematic instead. My tangiematic phenos are so far clearly hybrids..
Nice grow! I would like to see it at harvest time!

Hey Left... tangiematic sounds like a nice choice... as with all strains especially hybrids it is a bit of a pheno hunt...
There's still some way to go with the mass shooters being so sativa leaning... I'm hoping they'll be ready end of August at best... weather has took a turn for the worse recently. I only get to check them once weekly at best!.. they have been lapping up the nutes I give them... may set up a blumat carrot or two next time I see them for more consistent feeding... I'll share some pics in due course!.. easy now!...

Just to add...
It'd be nice to hear from other growers their experiences with landrace sativa autos or any strain with definite sativa tendencies...
Don't ya think?.. easy now...

This what I would like to grow as an identical, but smaller, auto version

I agree with Steppa, I would like more photos of what is possible to achieve nowadays as regards to autoflowering landrace phenos.
Excited to see your next photos as well, Steppa, now that the weather is a bit more challenging. I would think landrace genetics help in humid climate due to adaptation, though their hybrids might lack too much in yield and potency for many growers' liking.
I have heard if the super autos from stich, they seem to be hit and miss. Looks like they are often photoperiod, which made me convinced that they are f1s or f2s between sativa and auto, giving you only a certain percentage of autos. If they are taken to f3 or further and stabilized as true autos, I suspect them to lose the lanky landrace pheno. There is probably a balance between finishing in time and developing lanky vines with foxtails.

I'll tag a guy who may have what you need. Hes new here and still trying to get vetted. Maybe you've looked at his genetics already or spoke to him but I'll give him a tag and let you know anyways. @Heirloom genetics

I have a landrace Nepalese high mountain hash plant. Because of where it grows it is short and stocky with bulbous sometimes non connecting buds like indica. It looks nothing like sativa and finishes in Oregon in second week of sept which misses the oct pacific nw rains. My version is popular in Oregon known as “ the nep”. It has the mental qualities of sativa but it is not speedy. It is a photoperiod regualr seed. Golden Thai Thai and purple Thai and real Malawi , along with the Nepalese are the only sativas I can mess with.

Oregon Blueberry is on my list of need to have. Hope to be a le to buy the auto some time. His golden thai seems very interesting as well. Thanks for the tip.

Hey there, heirloom!
Must have been writing my post while you responded.
I though I read you have an auto with thai in it? Both Purple and golden. mixed with afghan? The golden should have some resistance to my cold and humid climate, the afghan not so much, but if it's short flowering it could be interesting to try up here in 60N.
Nepalese genes are helpful as well. Many seeds on my wish list. But for this thread I'll keep to the topic of NLD pheno in autos. Are any of your thai autos lanky with typical SEA sativa appearance?
