Molasses?

@Waira I haven’t set up a grow journal yet, just planted my seeds yesterday. I want to start one this week when my stuff comes in so I can document everything. The good things about convertibles is you have all the area above you too. My brother and me went to Costco once, bought a large rolled up rug probably like 12 feet long. We forgot what car we took and we had this thing sticking straight up all the way home :,) I have that float valve so I want to use a larger container if I can.

:crying: I'm surprised the cops didn't pull you over! You know, check with @davisgirl or @RivetGrrl on a storage container, one or both of them are DWC runners and have an RO stash set up,.... Cheers to the seed planting Annie, I'm literally about to pull my outdoor seeds out and start germ'ing! :woohoo:

Yo, rattle my chain I come Waira :smoking:
My broke ass spends money on lights and I could use an RO system, Dgirl is the one running one.
I have a reservoir from my Water Farm I use that I fill with tap water (the horror) and deal with chlorimides with ascorbic acid (it sounds fancy, it's vitamin C and to make it even better I crush up the chewable ones. Pick your flavor, I'm on a blueberry kick now it makes the water smell nice. Doesn't hurt the plants any). Learned that trick from Man 'O Green, but he would probably roll his eyes if he knew I was using the chewables :crying:

As for beneficial critters, I brew Heisenberg Tea and I LOVE it. Cheap, easy to make and I got roots like crazy. It cleared up my pythium and prevents it, which is great because my reservoirs are way too warm but the bennies love it. The molasses is used in brewing for them to eat, after 48 hours the tea is ready and the bennies start to die off as they have eaten all the suger. So into my res they go and take care of the bad guys. I add them every week or so depending how the roots look. (tea is goof for 10 days in the fridge once brewed).

@RivetGrrl interesting technique of using vitamin C! I have def never heard about that before.

Anyways, I was able to really hustle a 55 gallon container last night. It’s food safe and already has a spicket on the bottom. Got it for only $20. The guy that sold it to me said his wife was mad because he had seven of these things and was collecting way too much rainwater in the backyard :)

Good score on the container!

Ascorbic acid binds to the chlorine and they both cancel each other out. I was letting my water sit overnight with an airstone; turns out my water may have chloromides and those do not dissipate, but Vit C takes care of it
