Molasses?

@Waira what do you think of this for plant?

I’ll def need calcium now that I bought a R.O. System (haha I caved)
Just to double check that you know that you will need an additive (no plain water) while growing with ro water. I use distilled water (filtered previously) and need an additive for that, which is another area where molasses works well.

@AutoWonders Yea I got some nutes that I am going to add. I def don’t want soil leaching to happen.

Thanks Waira for the response. I have some inoculate here that I’m excited to use (fungi and bacteria). I wasn’t sure if it would lead to the development of nodules. I’ll def need calcium now that I bought a R.O. System (haha I caved)

Annie
, many growers here including myself like Recharge for inoculant... A good value, with a diverse 'crobe list, plus kelp and molasses built in-
:d5: Nice on the RO system! Which one did you get? ...you can mix the tap and RO to get some mild hardness water, which is perfect; just enough mineral buffering to help with pH, but not so much as to become a problem short and long term,... really hard water can cause all kinds of drama...:nono: Did you score TDS or EC meter? You will need this to check on the RO's fucntioning as well as for any water blending you may want to do,.. also the right tool for checking your nutrient solution conc., much better than volumetric measuring until you're well familiar with your nutes and plant responses to your feeding regime, taking some of the guess work out of the equation!

@Waira I'm going to hijack this a little and ask you for your opinion on Recharge vs Mammoth P. I was planning on using Mammoth P to assist in smoking you guys in the Mephisto grow final this fall, but the more I read about Recharge, the more it looks like a better more complete bio-supplement.

@Waira I purchased a hydrologic stealth 150 with upgraded KDF filter. I also got a membrane flusher and a float valve. I have a PPM/EC coming in the mail as well. All I have to do now is try to find a large container to house the R.O. water. I was thinking about going to try to get a ~30 gallon plastic barrel locally or an unused wine barrel.

hey bud! :pass: ... MP is a more specialized inoculant, geared toward P cycling and micronutes too,.. I forget where I saw the actual microbes listed in it, but there isn't myco's in there, or many of the other key players like there is in a general purpose inoculant that has a whole cadre of players, bacterial and fungal to work on the nutes, enzymes, etc,... use MP in conjunction with the other inoculants! MP is damn nice stuff, but their pricing has become outrageous- :finger: ... many other companies are onto this now, similar bacterial profile, just shy of patent infringement- .... Mega-Phos comes to mind,... I use their (Blacksmith Bioscience) Armory for anti-pathogen protection in soil and as a foliar spray (antifungal)... Streptomyces strains can eat mold spores, etc.....

Nice choice luv! After my old PureFlo II beater blows another filter housing, I'm going with this company, they are in fact semi-local, and have excellent reviews,... probably the Micro unit, plent good for my needs....
To store RO water, you MUST have a neutral material container, food grade plastic basically, anything else especially a wine barrel will leach stuff back into the water,... you know, somebody was asking about these large blue plastic drums at the horti'-store the other day when i was there,.. not sure where to get them, usually food stuff stored in them, but I also see plant nutes and the like in them,... talking 55gal drums here though! Sounds like a little research project Annie, call your local horti-stores about this, maybe they can find something suitable or refer you to it,....

@Waira Thanks for the advice again. I def will get a food safe one. The size is the only thing that concerns me. I have a convertible sports car and transport of large objects can be difficult sometimes :,)

:help: :haha: nobody wants to have to use farm animals for transport! Consider also the regular water jugs made for this, 3-5 gal so they are manageable...
oooOOoo,..convertible sports car,... water hottie? :funny: ... Cheers Annie, glad to help! Do you have a grow journal set up yet?
