New Grower Moby Dick XXL Auto - Outdoor

tap root must be showing by now:grin: get them in to soil soon"My 2 cents"good luck:Sharing One:

I checked this morning and no tap root showing yet, probably tomorrow. I have everything ready to do it tomorrow or the day after.

doesn't matter the roots u gone retard his development!!!if u put her in the final pot after germination she will be done much more soon i can garantee u..and outdoor i recomend a 15lt pot...she will be a Whale ;)

Finally, I transplanted both seedlings to their final 15 liter pot. Let's see how they like it.

I've also been a little worried that the jiffys might be strangling the roots for whatever reason, so I gently removed the jiffy mesh and took apart the pellet from the bottom up bit by bit, until i saw the roots... what do you know, both seedlings had way underdeveloped roots, specially the tiny one. I hope that now that both are in soil I'll see some positive changes.

I'll keep updating with their development.

Well, I just found out that some seed banks recommend NOT to use peat pellets because "...pure peat is way too acidic for a seed to germinate normally and it can inhibit it's normal development"

Morning bro,

Sending you luck and good karma that they take well to the new home, thanks for the info on the peat pellets, I have never used them to germ in before and won't bother trying in future grows, I always germ in paper towels and then plant straight into big pots using sterilized tweezers to handle the seed from the towel to the pots. My first few grows I have had slow seedling development, this time I have been giving some Bio Buzz Root Juice and it seems to have improved root development and growth compared to the past at this stage.

Just stay positive all the time they are looking healthy and try not over think anything unless the plants leaves are telling you they are not happy, am sure you will be fine and most importantly just enjoy your grow.

Thanks spanglish.

So far so good, the seedlings have stayed green. I assume they'll take a couple of days to get used to the transplanting and once they do they'll finally start growing a healthy root system.

I'll post new pictures when there's any positive change (hopefully soon)

Ok, small update.

Just to be on the safe side I had to take the jiffy pellets apart and carefully transplanted both seedlings.
Two days later, both seemed to have survived and take to the transplant rather well. This is how they look:

Seed 1 - Dia 13 - ene 23.JPG
You can see that in two days this seedling has fully opened a second pair of serrated leaves
Seed 2 - Dia 11 - ene 23.JPG
This one had an almost non existant root system, but even so it's second pair of true leaves is growing.
