Thanks to my friend Automan I've been able to replenish my supply of Purple Amnesia seeds as well as some Himalayan Orange Diesel to try and some Green Crack to test. So I've got one of each started, along with some Jet47 regs.

This will be my first summer indoor grow in the recently air conditioned outdoor grow box. Running on low with the temp setting on 3 it's keeping it right at 82, perfect for LED lights. I installed a Honeywell 24 hour, 7 cycle timer and have it turning on my exhaust fan approximately every 3 1/2 hours for 5 minutes to change the air.

This will be a soil less grow using Pro Mix HP with additional perlite, myco, humas and minerals. For nutrients I'm using House & Gardens. I switched to Cultured Solutions for my rdwc and had them left over. A tech from H&G had previously mentioned it works well in all soil less applications, so I called them and verified that. They had no knowledge of anyone using their Aqua Flakes with autos in soil less medium. After some discussion they recommended a starting dose of 4 ml per gallon, which is what I watered the pots with, along with 1 ml per gallon of Nitrogen Boost. I'll also be using their supplements at the appropriate times during the growth cycle. So this is a bit of an experiment.

These pics are from a couple days ago. Not much to see yet.

The Jet47s are in the juice containers. I started 8, 2 didn't germ, and 2 came up upside down, root first. I turned them both around and lost one. So I've got 5 going. I'm hoping for 3 females to fill the box out more. Seven is an ideal fit but 6 will do. The females will also go into 3 gallon pots.

Got some new pics from 2 days ago. Since then 4 of the 5 Jet 47s have sexed, 1 male and 3 females. I was hoping for at least 3 so if the other turns out a girl, it will be a bonus. I transplanted the females this afternoon into 3 gallon pots. Everything looks good. I'm still working out how much H&G to feed. I started at their recommended 4 ml gallon. I hit the transplants with 7 ml A &B, 4 ml Nitrogen Boost, 4 ml Multi Zen and 5 ml Cal/mag. I'll see how that looks and then determine what to feed the HOD, PA and GC when they need feeding in a few days. I also moved the two Samurai Jack inside. I had a third but something ate it outside. I was just going to veg them in there for awhile but one is a male and I should have room to leave the one female in there. She's kind of a runt and in a soil mix I've not used before, so I'm not expecting much from her anyway.

I've been giving some thought to building an rdwc system for this space. I'll need to build a little annex on the side big enough to hold a chiller, pump and filter. Two Rubbermade Brute 20 gallon totes will fit in there nicely, leaving room for a small epi for monitoring and adding. I just need to add up all the amps and make sure I'm not exceeding the 20 amp circuit I've got out there. I also run my fence charger off that circuit, and now with the A/C, it's going to be tight. It will run about $600, almost half of which is the chiller. The two Chemdogging I ran in my rdwc system averaged 4.5 oz. on a 12/12 light schedule so I think I can get as much or more from 4 rdwc plants as opposed to 6 or 7 in soil. Here's a drawing of what I've got in mind.

Hey Muddy! Got an update for us?

I will soon. I'm just finally getting back up and running after a bad power surge nearly wiped out my home network. I'll get some new pics tomorrow. They are at day 69 today and some are starting to finish up. Next feed I'll start cleansing them with an eye to harvesting in 2 weeks.

Here's some pics taken on day 70, 3 days ago. As you can see they are all finishing up except that big Jet 47 in the back. That was the one that came up root first that I was able to turn around. It's about 10 days behind the others and is a monster. It peaked at 30", the largest indoor auto I've yet to grow. The other 3 Jet 47s hit 24", along with the Himalayan Orange Diesel. The Purple Amnesia and a bit smaller, about 20", and the Green Crack about 16. The HOD is showing it's sativa influence and taking a bit longer to finish. It's buds have a lovely blue shade and a wonderful odor. The side branches aren't the strongest and aren't supporting the weight of the buds without help. Since it's only one plant I'm hoping it's just a pheno thing and the others will be stronger.

I couldn't be happier with the performance of the House & Garden Aquaflakes. I've pushed the nutes pretty hard, hitting 1,500 ppm at peak feeding. That was a bit much but they easily handled 1,200. When I inquired of H&G about using them on autos they admitted they have no experience with autos. After some discussion they gave me what they thought would be a good starting point. I've tracked my usage very closely and intend to get back with them for further discussion. I'm hoping they will allow me to give them feed back over another grow or two with an eye on their publishing an auto feeding schedule for their nutes. Anything else I've used in the past, AN, GH Flora, GH Three Part, Fox Farms, hasn't given me these type results. I did add a bit too much aluminum sulfate and it was pushing the pH lower than I like. That did effect my P and K uptake a bit and probably cost me a bit of final weight.

As I start harvesting I'll take some final pictures. In the mean time . . .
