New Grower milkmann's Medicine Cabinet grow #1 (RQS Stress Killer Auto, high CBD)

Hi all, day 32. Some of the leaves are drooping, I think she looks a bit sad. Not sure if it's a case of under/overwatering... been giving her 2L last couple of waterings, maybe three days apart. In a 12L rhizopot. She's had some BB nutes, some Ecothrive Charge and Photo + in the last two waterings. I have included some pictures. LST seems to be going well. You can definitely tell the difference between a few CFLs and LED though. Leaves seem green and healthy, no nutrient burn or anything, although a few bigger fan leaves are showing slight discolouration.

Temps so far are reaching around 27-30c and this with my room being kept as cold as possible. When I start the perpetual and more lights are added it's going to get pretty hot in there. Not much I can do. I've got an air cooler blowing on the area around the cabinet but it's not helping too much.

Any advice welcome :)

Not qualified to say what it could be... Pop in over in the live help section and one of the experts could probably help you out! Best of luck!

Hey milkmann, I think she's got waaay too much water going on. I would definitely let the soil dry out for 3 or even 4 days, until the leaves pickup and look normal again. Then start to give her small batches of water, divided into two feedings a day. Looking at her size, I'd be giving no more than 400ml - 500ml at the most, possibly even less, even that I'd devide into two batches, one at lights on, and one midway her daytime.

I highly recommend that you read Tang's thread from start to finish, and pay special attention to how much water he gives at the different stages of the plants:

Just my two cents, you may still want to check with the pros in the infirmary: https://www.autoflower.org/forums/autoflower-infirmary-for-sick-plants.90/

Best of luck! :toke: :karmacloud:

Hi all, day 45. As the above says, I think I had an overwatering problem, combined with excessive heat and in some cases the leaves being too close to the CFL (sometimes the CFLs have been 1cm away from the leaves) so I reckon I lost about 7 days ish of growing which is a shame but you learn with every mistake! I think the yellowing is from the overwatering and the need for nutrients which I couldn't administer due to the overwatering mistake!

Today I planted 2 Sweet Seeds Red Poison Auto's in my second grow cabinet I bought (will be making a separate GD for these) and a RQS Fast Eddy (High CBD) which will also be included in that grow diary. Will start the diary after they've all popped.

Here's some pics. Gave her 750ml of watering today, her first watering in 10 days, when she finally felt dry an inch down. Going to give tomorrow a miss and then another 500ml or so when she feels like she needs it.

@ChillFred @fustipisti @danishgrow thanks for the advice, you were both right. My last grow I suffered from underwatering, this time I overcompensated!

Going to switch from veg to flower CFLs now.

Cheers guys

Day 50. Removed some of the dead leaves. That overwatering really messed things up, in many ways. Oh well, you live and you learn. Just giving her 300ml ish water and waiting until she's dry. At what point are you meant to water until runoff, or 25% of the pot volume?

I've started another grow alongside this now which I'll be starting a diary for soon. I reckon I'll be lucky to get 14g off this. CFLs suck compared to LED lol.

Cheers

I'll be honest with you, I never water to runoff. All I do is what I read from TaNg - lift the pot to feel / guess how much water is in there. Once you lift the pot when the soil is dry, you can sort of compare with that baseline later on. I know it's not very scientific, but I don't think it needs to be. In nature, it never rains the same, so the plant is prepared for that to a certain degree.

Also check with your hands on the top few cm / inch of the soil to see how wet it is. I skip a feed or a full day if there is lots of dampness on the top soil.

A plant that is about 40-60cm tends to drink around 800ml - 1.2-1.4L for me, and that is per day. But again, it's a bit dynamic, I adjust based on these criterias as above.

Also, I divide the feeding into two, so half of the daily dose in the morning, half in the evening. Not a must, but I suspect there is only so much the plant can absorb in one sitting, so by dividing up she has a better chance to take up all the nutes. This is also probably why I don't have to give that much water.

My first harvest was 15g from three plants, heavily bug infested as well... as you learn your own setup, you'll be able to tweak it based on how the plants react. So don't get discouraged, next one will be better for sure!

:slap: not giving up!

@fustipisti thanks I'm going to follow his diary along with mine and see how it goes. That's useful base numbers to know, I think my watering is my main issue with all of my grows so far including this one. Thanks for info regarding feed, that's a good idea. I'll give that a try, and see how that goes. I think I'll give her one last feed then start flushing. She's starting to get amber trics!

Cheers for the rep as well!
