So far not a lot of nodes to pull aside. Growing nicely otherwise. Once again, Greenleaf nutrients delivers: so far not any significant signs of nutrient deficiency or toxicity. I think finally keeping the humidity stable has also had an effect. The distilled water was the key. Pain in the ass to distill about a gallon a day, but I am on the 3rd week with the same sponge and still easily maintaining the tent at 50-60% RH. The surrounding room is only 15-25% RH, so I am chalking this up as a victory.

What used to happen was the efficiency of the humidifier declined over time as the sponge fouled with mineral deposits. I was going through one every two weeks, and at $15US a pop I wasn't too anxious to replace them. Thanks to the distilled water, there's not a hint of minerals on the sponge now, and it's still rocking as solid as it did on day 1.

Temperature has been a little unstable the past few days, mainly because of the massive drop in outdoor temperatures this week. I struggle to keep the room at 70F now with the space heater on around the clock.

pH has been rather stable, too, now that I am adding enough nutrients to the water to provide some buffering.

The pics this Sunday should be a dramatic difference to the last set. They're really picking up steam.

Day 27

Have to make rounds with the family tomorrow, so I did my Sunday maintenance on Sat Night.

I stepped up the nutrients a tad.

Greenleaf Nutrients:

Megacrop: 1.0g/L
Algae Extract: 0.1g/L
Sweet Candy: 0.35g/L

pH is pretty solid now that there is enough buffer in solution.

I have a feeling stretch is about to kick in, hence my uptick in Megacrop.

Day 34

Really taking off now, though still rather stout. Smooth sailing so far.

Another uptick in megacrop, but everything else unchanged.

Megacrop: 1.125g/L
Sweet Candy: 0.35g/L
Algae Extract: 0.1g/L

(Also, I noticed that some of my measurments were inaccurate in earlier updates. I am fixing them tonight)

Day 42:

Easily 50% bigger than just last week. The stretch is definitely on, and I am pretty sure i'll have to supercrop both ladies.

Overall still looking nice and healthy. In hindsight, I wish I had started one of the two with the new megacrop formulation. I was resisting having more than one bag open at a time, given how fast that stuff sucks up moisture. But I came to realize that I am not doing myself any favors by holding out until I manage to burn through the kilo of old megacrop I have now. If the new formulation is really better, it wouldn't make much sense to keep the old stuff anyway. We're not talking life-changing amounts of money, either.

Next grow I'll do the side-by-side comparison and see what comes of it.

Still holding at 60%RH +/-5 points, 75F +/- 5 degrees.

Inocculant: 0.5 ml/L
Megacrop: 1.125 g/L
Sweet Candy: 0.35 g/L
Algae Extract: 0.1 g/L

I have a hunch next week's update will have at least some sign of earnest flowering.

Going to introduce PK boost during the week at 0.25 g/L.

They look great Mike! Can’t wait to see the buds on those!

Day 49:

Nutrient mix:

Algae Extract: 0.1 g/L
Sweet Candy: 0.35 g/L
PK Boost: .15 g/L
Megacrop: 1.25 g/L

Flowering is off to a good start. The top on thing 1 burned in the light, so I had to supercrop it. Wish I had gotten to it sooner. I think I can still raise the lights another 5 inches, but that's it.

Might be another session of supercropping next week, but by then I imagine the vertical growth will be done.

Thing 1 should recover from the burn just fine. At least I hope so.

Day 56

The ladies have filled the vertical space. Supercropping as needed to keep the buds out of the fire.

Nutrients for this week:

Algae Extract: 0.1g/L
PK Boost: 0.15g/L
Sweet Candy: 0.35g/L
Megacrop: 1.25g/L

Not much in the way of flowers to highlight. Will be pruning fan leaves during the week.

I really think I have overstepped the limits of this tent. Two feet higher would do me right, I think.

I'll try to get better pictures after pruning this week.

Peace!
