Oh, that damn Malibu Compost came with undesired seeds and worst of all fungus gnats. Any care to share how they rid their soil of these pests?

Diaomateus earth or sand layer on top of the soil.

Cup of apple cider vinegar and liquid soap mixed. They drown. I have a friendly spider in my grow room now and gets the gnats and flies for me lol

Working on the gnats. Dropped their population. Top dressed with diatomaceous earth and mosquito bits (bti). Thinking about cover the top soil with perlite. They grand question is, so I top/fim the girls?

There they are. I just got in some greenleaf megacrop, first time trying them.

That's why I quit soil, most Hydro shops sell the bugs to you in soil. Then they sell you the cure.

Yep very common to find fungus gnats in soils... If you keep the soil dry they should really slow down production but if you always keep the soil moist they will spread like crazy. theyve never caused me harm just annoyances.

I'm going to grab sticky traps to catch flyers which are pretty much the annoyance. The source would be in the soil where I hope the bacteria will take care of the larva. I've read gnat larva can feed on the young roots.

So, should I top the girls today? The oldest should be around 21 days from sprout. Or should I let them run free and leaf tuck?

Alright. Past due update and sorry for not keeping up with the journal. So you already know Im trying out mega crop and that's what they've been feeding on. Mephisto says they have found two phenos of the forum stompers and I believe I have both.

Environments is very stable in veg 73℉ nights and 84℉ lights on. Humidity is kept at 60~68% with lots of circulation. Plants are starting to guzzle down the mega crop at 4 grams a gallon and looking great. I'm not checking pH or EC/ppms unless I see signs or deficiencies.
To the left is the strechier OG like while the Mephisto coined "branch on branches" sits on the left. They're about a little over a foot tall.

Hey AFN! Got some pistils and a little frost on the girls! I believe the strech is done for most part. They're standing about 28 inches tall and about 24 inches wide after a little LTS. I've cleaned up the bottoms and been feeding mega crop at 5 grams a gallon along with recharge and impello bloom. Tons of projects and outings been keeping me away. Check them out!
