Not easy to get that much amber in an auto without letting it go a long time usually. Depending on my needs, I would harvest anywhere from now to about 10 more days. I ignore amber on autos. When you have 80% or more cloudy trichs you can chop. And the change in pistils is only a general indicator, many autos will continue to produce more white pistils, some out to 90+ days. So, I start checking trichs when the pistls change color and/or shrivel. Check several buds, top, middle and low. I gauge by the middle buds, usually they ripen 5-10 days later than the top buds. On small plants they will be fairly close in ripeness so go by the top buds. With big plants and depending on your needs, you can do 2-3 partial harvests and take just the ripest buds first.
Gonna chop on day 65 (Monday). Thank you for all who talked me off the proverbial ledge. Im an inexperienced grower and had a little panic when I saw amber so early.
Thank you to all who “talked me off the ledge” with this girl. She was my first try at transplanting and I stunted her. On top of that, I was aggressive with LST when she was CLEARLY telling me NO. I’m going to give her another try in a few weeks after I get the next round on track. I ended up with 25 grams of FANTASTIC bud. I’m happy that I found a strain for nighttime for my bride.
