Springtails are beneficial insects they're not gonna hurt anything.
I agree. But only in small numbers. I found a good bit of info saying in large numbers they eat the plants roots and cause leaf curl

I just started 2 more beans. I would like to have a perpetual grow. But only having 1 tent / grow area makes it tough for me. But I know it can be done.
The two beans are both Mephisto.
Mephisto Genetics Strawbba The Hut (New fresh pack)
Mephisto Genetics freebie cross - 3 Bears OG/Mango Smile.

I have never buffered coco coir before. This is what was going to do:
Wash coco with tap water until ppm is below 200 or lower.
Fill up a bucket and add 1500 ppm of Cal Mag.
Fill up two 1 gallon fabric pots with the rinsed off coco.
Then soak in Cal/Mag for 8 hours.

Ps. Is tap water ok? Mine is at 133 ppm.

Soil would be easier for perpetual since you wouldn't have to have separate mixes of nutes. Flush it with your tap, hotter the better. Then I'll fill up the pots and soak them in 500ppm calmag in 5 gallon buckets overnight at like 5.5ph. Next day let them drain and soak in 350ppm of your nutes at 5.8ph overnight. Then let them drain and put in your tent to come up to temp and dry a bit. 24 hours and you're ready for seeds

Having to make separate mixs don't bother me. I just make the strongest one first. Then I add ro water to the solution to get it down to 350 ppm for the seedlings.

I pretty much buffer my coco the same as jp

Also at 133ppm you should be fine especially if your just using that for rinsing the coco.. I use my tap to rinse and my tap is 300-400ppm:d5:

Most nutrient lines make you change from veg to flower, but if yours doesn't then you can probably water it down

I am going to try and kill the springtails tomorrow morning. I am going to try BTI and I hope that works. I really don't want to use this Sevin(minute man rocket). But I need to get rid of these fuckers asap. I don't want to put the seedlings in an infested tent I only see 2 options. Kill the bugs and keep going or throw them away and scrub the tent down smh.
But they are looking better so I can't bring myself to scrap em. I don't think the springtails really mess with larger plants. They mainly reek havoc on seedlings.
