While brought up flushing the plants, my mind has been continuously wandering back too...
What other fruit or vegetable do we flush the last week or so of ripening?...hmmm...

Chillis respond well to a flush and then a hard drought.

Some of my monsters

My large bhut the size of a washing machine!

Morgura Scorpion finally ripening up. Going to be so close! Very proud to have got her this far. (UK outdoor grown)

Finally my yellow mystery (think cayenne). Loving her colour.

Flushing doesn't do what flushers think it does according to

"Flushing was found to be ineffective in removing any significant amount of nutrient from the bud."

Flushing is especially harmful for hydro growers, because it immediately deprives the plants of bud-fattening nutrients.
Soil growers' yields might suffer less from flushing, because soil can hold enough nutrients to stave off the flushing starvation.
I only grow coco and still use nutes to my last feed. When it dries up a few days later ill cut.

Buds swell so much in flush. It is the girls last throw of the dice to enhance and pass on her genetic legacy.

A very good reason why I get the yields and density. Just IMO but I will not change.

I am just a newbie into his fifth grow cycle. However, 14.8 zips from a single auto and now averaging around 10 per Mephisto plant regardless of strain - except the untrained Sour Crack up earlier. A beast to be fair in her own right.

I would go organic if I had more time and space! Simply not the yields in organic and no till.

FWIW, I grow organic supersoil, adding Cal-Mag only as Cobs require it, and occasional Recharge. I never flush. I do omit Cal-Mag for the last 3weeks and water only.
Can’t say anything about the synthetic route, but it is unnecessary in organics.

I'd say near impossible. I wonder if some of this doesn't go all the way back to when we had to come inside, and were used to seeing plants finish outdoor getting the fall colors.

Think I'm going to push the ghost toof I'm planning on cutting in 2 weeks. Most of her is bound for the press anyhow.
