Oh yes... there's tons of videos on how to do this... search on youtube... what's so special about the bend or damaging is that it takes the circulatory system of the plant from '2 lane road' to 'Superhigway'... Your roots will go mad, branches and trunk will swell, knuckles will form and the plant will ask for tons of liquid... the branches will ultimately hold the huge tops up without need for support... can't get better than this... one and done... imho of course...

But don't listen to me... watch all the videos and try it!
Is there a certain point in the grow that you do this, for example my plants are in preflower, is that too late? I'm down for trying anything that will increase my yield by 1/3 hahaha.

I also wanted to ask something else. What about just pinching the stalk until it cracks, without putting a bend in it? Would that stimulate the flow of nutrients to the main cola similarly as well?

That exactly the way I supercrop...90% of the time the shoots don't droop. I find the wound is still caused but grow hardly slows at all, if at all.

I only do it in veg, but some guys do it much further into bloom.

I just checked the fourm and there is no section for training specifically. There should be enough threads and we damn well have plenty of folks who know how to make their plants "sit" real purty like so perhaps its time for such a specific section perhaps?

Totally agree

Yep have to agree and have the old bones here look into it . :vibe:

I gave fimming/topping a deliberate go last grow, and this thread has caused me to deliberately give supercropping/knuckling this time around. Thanks all. I've supercropped external photos but only ever done a little of it and pinching on autos as height required.

Yes, its too late. LST needs to start at week 2 and continue through pre flower. You are trying to make the plant create more auxins, to promote more budsites and have the side branches keep up with the main cola.
Bigger pots and bigger lights will do that, along with big genetics! If you guys want a thread specifically for LST and tying down for better light penetration, I can set it up and one of you can do a tutorial. Interested, pm me and I will create the sticky and post it in the new growers forum so people will see it and get better use of it there. Just shoot me a PM if anyone wants to take it on. I myself dont do LST, simple sea of green in my tent.

I personally think you can LST right through to harvest, theres never a bad time to level canopy or expose buds to light. It will admittedly have differing effects at different stages.

Would it be possible to have a Training forum? To incorporate all methods. LST and HST. Faded should get his FIM guide on there for sure. I'm an amateur but I'd certainly post journals on there.

Okay who will be our hero and tutor us on fimming, super cropping, LST HST etc. Do not ask what AFN can do for you, ask rather what tutorial you can do for AFN! I will certainly add my 2 cents worth... when I get 2 cents worth of knowledge that is. I will also start my next grow journal in the section so folks can get a little comic relief and see how NOT to scrog or super crop.
