How big is your space?

I’m in a 4x4. Very dry here. So I picked up an Amazon humidifier (probably the same as a Walmart one). Quickly ran into 2 problems.

First, I had to refill the thing every 12 hours to keep it running. Of course this doesn’t happen. Second, it wouldn’t stop running until it was out of water, so it would go from too humid to bone dry every day. Literally, my hygrometer would show min/max humidity at 27/99.

So I bought a different humidifer from Amazon. It only holds a gallon of water, same as the other one, but it lets you target what humidity you want. I set it at 60% and a gallon lasts about a whole 24 hours. Seems to be a nice balance between the amount of humidity the unit puts out vs. how fast the 6” filter removes it.

I upgraded to 5x5 because last grow. I had two chem dogs. And two toofless aliens. And they completely out grew the space. Were so heavy they snapped where the main stem meets the root system. My highs are currently 50% and a low of 26% I may look into this fogger here

That fogger looks like a really nice solution. I would have loved to hook up something like that.

$100 for the fogger and another $65 for the Inkbird pair which includes a thermostat and humidistat. Plug your fan into the thermostat and the fogger into your humidistat. Set up a thermometer/hygrometer remote probe where you are curious about and dial the system in until it's perfect. Complete temp/RH control for the price of a few colas. If ya wanna go a step further and get the floorspace back, build a mini low profile 4x4 table that will be the new floor of the tent. Most tents have an abundance of vertical room. Steal a little back and put that gear underneath. Put some holes in the table to allow the environment through. If you do that you can use a huge low profile reservoir and still have the whole 16² feet to grow dope.

Upon doing some research. I’ve read humidity is not a big deal. You can get through with Low rh. None of my girls are exhibiting signs of stress. So I’ll skip over that for now. I’ll keep it in mind for next grow.

Lol...yeah, humidity is way overrated. You need to do some more research. Proper environment is as important as nutes. You can play with nutes, you can't play with the environment. You should be aiming as high as possible, as it comes back tenfold.

I know, I know, expensive hobby. Lots of stuff to buy. I get it.

You would make it to harvest with low humidity. But the health of the plant, growth, size, yield, quality of bud — all less than ideal. It’s definitely something you’ll want to take care of in the future.

Low RH can stress a plant but may actually trigger it to work even harder. I gave up on RH control in the winter, just too difficult to try to keep RH up with three tents. I've seen RH as low as 26%, my average winter RH is about 32%. No, quality was not compromised nor was growth. as long as the rest of the environment is as it should be, cannabis will cope with the RH. This girl was grown last winter, no RH control. I do mist my plant once a day in winter, but thats it. She didn't turn out too bad. And remember, Cannabis grows in mountain deserts as well as equatorial jungles.

All this humidity stuff has my head spinning!...especially for my first indoor run. Cold beer and several bowl hits did not calm my mind yesterday evening.
Thanks for the expertise on this wonderful forum. I mention humidity issues in my grow journal. Supposed to be buying a cheap humidifier this week. But as of this morning, they want to start flowering!! Dehumid keeps it at or below 70%. Decisions.

And happy Monday AFNers. Guess no one here won the lotto so back to the grind. Y’all have a good one.

That my friend is some big problems. I’d rather low humidity than high. You. Need to bring that down. ASAP. I’m pretty sure mold problems can arise. Had that in my last grow ....... I must say I’m excited. My blue toof is turning blue on all the fan leaves. 3 bears og is turning purple
