You’re right. But do you really think that’s better than the standard Walmart humidifier?
Keep a close eye on the humidity this time of year as it gets REAL dry in the next couple months. If ya need to fix it, I recommend an ultrasonic 3 head pond fogger to fight mother nature, as they are an affordable way to get a lot of moisture into a tent. Good luck with the Phisters.

Everything is better than Walmart anything. The little homeowner Walmart units are about non existent if you're running the kind of airflow you should be running. Better than Walmart? Yes. In EVERY way.

How big is your space?

I’m in a 4x4. Very dry here. So I picked up an Amazon humidifier (probably the same as a Walmart one). Quickly ran into 2 problems.

First, I had to refill the thing every 12 hours to keep it running. Of course this doesn’t happen. Second, it wouldn’t stop running until it was out of water, so it would go from too humid to bone dry every day. Literally, my hygrometer would show min/max humidity at 27/99.

So I bought a different humidifer from Amazon. It only holds a gallon of water, same as the other one, but it lets you target what humidity you want. I set it at 60% and a gallon lasts about a whole 24 hours. Seems to be a nice balance between the amount of humidity the unit puts out vs. how fast the 6” filter removes it.

Looking great!! My blue toof is the slowest of my three Mephistos.

This thread has swayed me to seriously consider a digital humidifier. I dipped down to 27% last night with lights on. Huge swings in humidity but no longer over 70% after I turned my dehumid back on.

If you guys are running 8" exhaust on a 4x4 this is what you want

Amazon product

Hook this up to a humidistat, like this:

Yeah.....the CRAP from Walmart will add a little bit of humidity, but a big fan is just gonna blow it out faster than you can add it. Not to mention tiny reservoirs and the plastic just screams consumer grade electronics. A setup like this is designed to be commercial quality with precision control, MUCH more accurate and able to keep up with big fans, and you can use 55gal drums if that's what you wanna do as a reservoir. Sure, it is not plug and go, but it's a WAY better rig, much more on par with a pro setup like you would see in a commercial green house. Sell a couple sacks and add it to the mix.
