Mephisto Genetics Mephisto Forgotten Cookies & 3 Bears OG

@davisgirl ..... Think of a PAR Meter as an investment rather than an expense ..... You will get way more outa your efforts and light and you won’t waste any light / electricity ....

Buds will be bigger and harder when plants get perfect light. Hydro farm will probably be just fine, is there return if not satisfied? Test when you get and compare to light manufacturer advertised readings.

@Mavadines ..... Oh yea, love my PAR meter ..... I’ve gotta find that extension bar, mine didn’t come with .... think a tripod may work - just set next plants and watch meter as I have a rail and the numbers change.

Edit Update: Just checked eBay and found this interesting on auction is PAR Meter and it has 53 bids so far with five days to go, that’s crazy action for a light meter - crazy ..... bid was $92

That Apogee is a $500 meter. I’ll check it out.

@MrOldBoy Curious what measurements you're using through your growth cycle. I've tried to use some I've seen posted on various sites and they all seem to hot, or too hot for my setup at least. What @davisgirl says above makes sense that my meter is reading approx 10% low as that would explain some of that.

On my meter I've been running approx

Seeding - 100-250
Early Veg - 250-350
Late Veg - 350-450
Flower - 600-700
Last few weeks - 350

Any thoughts are appreciated thanks

I don’t have enough experience with inside growing to be exactly sure and I’ve taken my 15-20 day gal up to closer to 565 level - even 615 but I’m running a light rail so the hot spot never stays in one spot but I since then I’ve lowered to around 515 level ....

Recently got my PAR meter after killing a few and stunning several others, sigh poor things and they started so well under that T5 .... first grow started after Black Friday so around December 10th or so ....

Now with my 3 Bears sitting on other of tent along with Strawberry Nug flowering down there the 3 Bears was getting around 800 and she didn’t like it, meanwhile the Nugs is getting 800-900 and going after it so in part depends on strain ..... Nugs has wide leaves and bears are more Sativa like, wider leaves can handle more light, don’t quote me, u know Stoner memory but my bear leaves were skinny, Nugs wide leaves handled more .....

I looked at your early miss journal and plants were beautiful .... my take on the numbers your running maybe a little low on flower and late side but if it works, don’t fix it .... to help make me smarter I listed to this podcast, u may like it’s about lights , I found this one and the other podcasts very informative but then most podcasts hinge around Organics but not this one, check it out Brother!

In the podcast they talk about 700-800 for flower with up to 1,500 for high co2 flower depends on strain and they also talk in the 240-300 seedlings, 400-450 and move up as they near preflower and flower ..... ideal for flower with co2 is 800

Excellent visual, printing that bad boy off and keeping around tent ... Commercial Grpwers hang around 800, they would like to go a little higher depending on strain never upwards of 1,400-1,600 on some exotic African strains, they said in podcast ... Issue is return on dollar, above 800 size / quality improves some but not at the rate the electric bill rises ....

Good info, thanks!

Late to the show but I’m subbed up now @Mavadines

Good luck in the battle, I’m looking at 3 Bears OG as part of my next run. I’m thinking two larger plants and two smaller plants to give me a little more diversity in the tent. I don’t think she is a monster genetically so it doesn’t surprise me that your Forgotten Cookies is larger at this point but you never know.

So it's been a while since I've last checked in as it's been a rough couple weeks. Honest truth is I almost had to pull the plug on this grow. About 2 weeks ago I had an emergency repair at my place which lead to an inspection by my landlord. I had to get the plants out and tent broken down in less than an hour. Plants ended up getting thrown under the porch outside and they sat for just over 6 hrs in 0-2°C weather. After bringing them inside they drooped for a couple days. The Forgotten Cookies went a touch lime green for the first week but has slowly been regaining her colour. To make matters worse they had to come back a week later so at least I had some time to plan. A friend of mine was able to house sit them for 24 hrs however they didn't see any light during that time. They sat in his tiny closet at 22°C. He didn't have room for my tent unfortunately however this was much better than leaving them outside. I have to say it's a real pain in the ass to break down and re-setup the tent multiple times. Plus moving 4 plants in a car isn't as easy as first thought. I strongly considered killing them off but am glad I didn't. They got a bit stunted for that week after the freezing but they seem to have somewhat recovered and have looked pretty good for the last 4-5 days. The 3 Bears actually made up some ground during this time surprisingly. Despite everything, I have to admit I am very impressed by the size of the pistols/bud potential on both plants, although the FC is really catching my eye. Lots of frost and I really get the feeling these buds are going to be heavy. Here's some photos from today
