Thanks for stopping in @KREATURE !

So far so good with the HLG 550 V2, however it's still quite new. I got it halfway through my first grow (photo-period) right as they were going into flower so as of now all they've done is 11+ weeks of 12/12 flowering. I was quite impressed with the intensity of the light and how even the light distribution was when measuring with my PAR meter. It is dimmable although not on an easy to turn knob, you have to use a screwdriver on the driver however it's no big deal. For the majority of it's time in the tent it was dimmed down to approx. 50% as my plants vegged a bit too long and they got out of control height wise.

This is my first full run with it and first auto run with it however I am impressed with the first 3 weeks. Node spacing is where I wanted it and I'm getting awesome side branching with minimal tucking so far. I am also a newb so take anything I say with a grain of salt. I just today increased the intensity on it as I'm starting week 4 and wanted to get close to 350-400PPFD. I seem to get a lot more light through the canopy compared to my cobs, although I'm assuming that's the case with most QB's.

Not sure if that helps or not, I just realized I rambled on a bit there. Cheers

Quick update and some photos from yesterday which was day 24

The Forgotten Cookies has pulled away and is pretty much guaranteed to be my horse for the Mephisto battle. The 3 Bears OG continues to lag behind. At this point I'll grow her out and see what happens although I'm not expecting much. The FC is starting to kick a few branches out where she was FIM'd a few days ago. I'm looking forward to the next week as a lot is happening each day. This is always the funnest part of the grow for me.

Looking good!
:baby:

Really looking good Mavadines! Nice growing. How much did your par meter set you back? That sure seems to be a handy tool come time to dial it all in.

I have a Sun PAR Meter, $350, invaluable tool with today’s lights .....

There is also one by HydroFarm that runs under $125 that looks good but I don’t see any Pros using but hydofarm stuff is usually pretty good.

Not sure what @Mavadines ismusing?

Check amazon!

Thanks @CaptJonLuc & @7.62 - am oddly captivated by the dancing baby btw - WTF lol. yet I keep going back and watching it groove

@RivetGrrl - It's actually picked up quite a bit in the last 24hrs. I am hopeful, maybe just a late bloomer. The smoke report I read sounded delicious so I am cautiously optimistic.

@davisgirl - I bought the "Hydrofarm LGBQM Quantum Par Meter Micromol Sensor" off Amazon. $175 CAD. The higher end one was just too far out of reach $ wise. It seems quite stable with it's readings and is easy to use. Not sure how accurate it is but I figure it can't be too bad? It sure is a nice tool to have around when I'm setting up/moving lights/diagnosing issues

@MrOldBoy - That's the one! I love how that one has the extension bar too instead of mine which is a hand held unit. I do admit I am enviously and slightly regretful every time I see that unit. Isn't it handy to have around?

Well at that price it’s still out of reach, even the hydrofarm basic model for $107. I did watch a comparison video on YouTube that compared the Hydrofarm to an expensive one and the Hydrofarm one seemed to return values that were consistently 10% lower than the expensive one. Maybe I’ll look for a used one? Or just go from the vendor specs and keep my fingers crossed.
