Hey EU/WW MephHeads,

We’ve seen quite a number of posts from people asking what is happening with your respective stores. We weren’t able to answer as we’d been exploring different solutions and how best to proceed with it. And we didn’t want to provide off the cuff answers that could be subject to change, and therefore not useful.

As many know, our distribution point for EU/WW orders was the UK, however since Brexit, and the new EU VAT rules and customs charges for online shopping, and on top of that certain postal systems being slammed with delays and backlogs due to the ongoing Covid situation.

With the extra headaches those factors bring it’s just been unfeasible to continue there and get people their orders smoothly. As at the end of the day both customers and ourselves are left frustrated.

There are also other logistical difficulties in that we do our strain development here in Europe, but any seeds for sale are produced in the States. So to get the quantity of seeds needed in to Europe to supply EU/WW demand is just not possible right now.

We feel shitty about it, but we’re honestly between a rock and a hard place with it.

However, We will keep on looking for solutions, but unfortunately no options would be an overnight fix.

In the meantime, There are some of our resellers in the US that will ship internationally from there.

I didnt follow through when exactly shi.. Hit the fan in Mephisto. But As far As I know , didnt Mitch move to Spain, bought farm and started Mephisto?? I dont know wtf happened to that story?? when shipping to EU become problem. OBVIOUSLY Mephisto vent back to uk. So other solution except opening some kind of Mephisto HQ in Spain I really dont know..

I heard it too. I also saw when covid started that seeds where stuck at the other side of the pound (in France ? I live in France !!!). Things seems to have change. Hope you will sort it out real fast guys. Glad I still have some in my inventory...

Sad to hear that the situation is what it is, but we'll all have to live with that.
I wish you guys the very best of luck with the business and maybe in the near future you guys get that figured out.

The thing that blows my mind is wtf would anyOne in just 5 years move to spain where growing is half legal,and then move back to Uk ?!!?
Really blows my mind.. But Again It aint my g*d da*mn buisness to know that!!
If nothing you will be remembered as game changers in canna autoflower world ...

I am just guessing and have no knowledge, but I believe the farm and strain development is still done in Span. I think they used the UK as distribution center for Europe. My guess is that is because Spain went full tilt against seed companies a few years ago shutting down seed companines like Dinafem and H.S.O. I am guessing the UK might not have been as head strong in the busting of such companies. All purely guessing.

The UK's laws for seeds were more favorable then Spain. That is why a number of the Big Seed banks are located in UK.

I don't wanna argue that Coz I don't know much about uk/vs spain weed / seeds laws.
But you were fully aware for how many years (one or two??) about Brexit ?? and still didnt take any action?
I must say that few Mephisto actions thru recent history weren't sit right with me,but I came over that.. When it came to ,me not be able to order your seeds from EU store, and other stores not shipping abroad is like biggest F U from Mephisto to Eu customers.. You can be grateful that rest of decent auto breeders don't give a f about us (EU growers) also, so you are still in first options when we wanna grow autos...

I will stil buy and grow your seeds if I can and Have chance,but No more Mephhead for me..

Hey Irelands seeds laws are very relaxed and there are many big seed banks. Ireland will be the new hub for the EU. I can recommend reputable seedbanks with international distribution already in place

Hello mate, I understand your frustration,
We are still in Spain, however we downsized and moved out from our old farm, where we used to develop and produce every seed and strain.

For various reasons it became impossible to continue at the original farm. Mainly Logistics, security, safety, demand and some personal reasons as well.

We still do all strain development ourselves in Spain, however what we used to produce for sale that some years ago would have sustained sales for a year or more would now essentially be gone in a couple of weeks. So we switched production to a few farms in the US, where 75% of our sales come from.

So now strains are bred to F3-F4 here and when we’re happy with them they get sent to the US to be feminised and produced in a quantity that is sufficient to meet the current demand.

I don’t want to come across as it’s all about numbers but whereas it was once 3 lads on a small farm, we’ve now had to expand our team to 16 just to manage everything, in all locations. We’re still learning business as we go, but fundamentally it has to make sense, the risk, effort and reward.

The Eu situation is unfortunate, as it’s really hard: read, next to impossible to get seeds into Spain from the states in the quantity we would need to make it worthwhile even opening up shop.

We have been in talks with some large distributors in Europe (for many months now) to see if there was a way to legally import a large amount of seeds, but even those companies with legal teams on hand, and a myriad of customs agencies type contacts can’t find a way that will work right now.
Hell, if we can get seeds to Spain, I’d run the shop myself.

The only other alternative is to set up a big production facility in Europe, but with legalities for this not favorable in comparison to the US, this would be a sketchy and huge endeavor to undertake when we’re just getting our business back on track after a few rocky years.

So, just incase it appears that we don’t give a fuck, I can assure you that we do, however nothing is ever as easy as meets the eye.
