Hello everyone!

I wanted to get some thoughts on how everyone deals with mealybugs if they have ever run into them? I seems to have found some on a couple branches on a two of my plants.

I went and inspected each plant and manually removed any I found and also defoliated the plants in the affected areas so I can see if any more pop up. I treated them both pretty heavily with some captain jacks neem oil spray on the stem base. They are flowering so I don't want to spray the buds. I lowered the temps in the room to about 74 and the humidity is in the lower 40s most of the time.

I have some DE coming I plan to start implementing in addition to the neem sprays. I also use some sticky traps and plan to use some pot popper nematodes in the next round. Will all of that be enough to prevent any future infestation?

They are close to finish so I am just going to watch them closely till they are done unless I'm missing something and should pitch them now. I only found about a dozen or so between both plants. After these are done I planned to get everything cleaned really well before the next run. I think I have my bases covered but figured I'd ask someone with more experience just in case. Thank you in advance for any help!

Two in one there for you @Dankerson ... :headbang: .. prevention and cure....

Also...with bud... this might be a bit more Spot Treatment... instead of spraying......:pass:

Thanks @Mossy appreciate the information! I already have some vinegar so I can give that a try in a few days after I let the neem work a bit. I'll have to grab some rubbing alcohol for the next manual once over as well.

Let us know what you try and how effective it is @Dankerson ...then the next person who needs the info has a jump start.. :headbang:

You could try neem oil but I seen you tried that already or a mix of 1 liter water with 10% milk
Soap (potassium soap)works aswel where I live we have them every year outdoors
Thanks for the tips, much appreciated! Kinda threw me as I'm in a garage so I wasn't expecting as many bugs. A bit different from indoors, I guess I will have to adjust a bit.

The captain jacks neem oil is what I normally use just cause it's what I have. It's supposed to be a fungicide, insectiside and miticide. Seems to handle any bugs pretty well just smells nasty, it's a good preventative so I'll probably use it every couple weeks and grab some deadbug as well for any other bugs.

It kills them by suffocating the oil blocks they’re breathing system that’s what the soap would do too I think with the milk it’s different there the milk bacteria does something to them

Yea I really dislike the smell of neem oil over here it comes in bottles really thick and gooey smells like some stew gone bad lol

Hey everyone!

Just to follow up with a resolution on this. The jacks 3 in 1 seemed to keep any new ones from coming up after I found them. I treated two days in a row with it coating the base stem, soil, bag and surrounding area. I had to be careful since I was late in flower so it didn't get on the buds. Otherwise I would have just coated the plants with it a few days apart. I kept an eye out and manually removed any with my fingers. Nasty little things, it's like they are covered in flour and leave white marks all over. One tell tale sign is they attract ants and other predators so they increase the bug activity all around.

I chopped it yesterday and found about half dozen additional bugs more or less all on the higher parts of the plant as they tend to keep going upwards on a stem. They were the more sneaky ones hiding in hard to see spots. I split the buds apart slightly to make sure none were hiding anywhere while removing the fan leaves. I also did a really really hard shake once flipped upside down to maybe knock any off that I might have missed. I'm pretty confident I got em all and planned to inspect it all a bit more when trimming.

I plan to keep using the 3 in 1 just as a preventative every 2 weeks since I'm in a garage. I already have stickies so I am going to keep using those in the pots and a few on the floor in the room. Also going to add mosquito bits and grab some captain jacks dead bug to have on hand for anything that gets through my preventative measures.

As some additional measures just for the room I am going to paint the floor of the with some killz white paint in an attempt to seal up the concrete and block a bit more and do another once over on the joints for any cracks. And clean the room up good before introducing anything else.

Thanks again for the help @Mossy @Toastman
