Really a water only organic grow it's actually pretty easy. Most of us don't want to do the commitment, though. The commitment is pot size! For a truly, water only grow, you have to go large. A very easy solution would be just buy Build A Soil 3.0 and put it in a 20+ gallon pot or even better a 4x4 bed.
What is this thing of a " water only grow"? Why is that such a goal on so many of these people's agenda? I have to admit, I kinda had that thought process in the beginning, since I had never done a container grow. Then my organic sense came into play. To properly pull it off, large pots are mandatory. So is fresh media or use media that has been properly re amended and both set for "cooking time". This means you have to have media cooking at all times if you do successive grows. That's a lot of work! Part of the thought process in a "water only grow", is less work during the grow, The thing is come you're still doing the work during the grow to re amend and help cook the last media you used. That is if you're not getting fresh media every grow. Which is silly wasteful!

Like I said, it is a commitment. You'll have less flexibility and need more room around your tent to gain access to everything. I'm not there myself. I'm not gonna do it until I can build my grow room in my shop. At least one quadrant will be a bed.
My commitment won't be to a water only grow, though. It will be a no till organic grow. A living cover crop, earthworms, chop and drop on all defols, top dress like nature does kind of grow. It will be a hell of a lot less physical work! No more hauling around and mixing a bunch of media. No more putting media in totes and mix it all up it's stirring it weekly. Just light bags of amendments! :cools:

What method entails less physical work?:cools:
I know you're better off using bigger bags, but that just isn't an option. I have a 2'x4' so room is an issue for now. When i say "water only" I am referring not not having to mix nutrients everytime I water. I know with smaller bags I will need to add some stuff. Top Dress is how I'd like to go, but I'm nervous on the amount to use, and how often to use it. I have a 3lb bag of Craft 3.0. I plan on reusing soil. I will not be growing non stop I use my tent to dry, and germinate too. So once plants are finished with trimming I will re-amend the soil then. I also have some living soil bags coming today. How long do you let your soil cook for?

MOG said it was N tox causing lockout. Thick clawing fuzzy tipped deep green leaves, definitely is an obvious indicator of excess Nitrogen.

:pass:
I though you said it 1st, and tagged him? Yeah, it was getting darker, and I knew what was coming lol. 5 days before she was good, and over those days she got dark fast. I did a mini flush. I ran about 1.25 gal through her Monday night. Hopefully that will help some.

I don't think it was the NLS necessarily. I added FFOF which I can cause issues often does. I also gave them worm tea, and then put the leftover castings on top. I should know better. I was concerned with all the nutrients in the bottom 3rd the plants would be small. I can't blame the the casserole for burning when I set the oven too high. This is 1 of those learning experiences. I have to do it again the way they say to use it before I can judge.

First off I have no experience with those ferts but maybe @Talonxracer can help cause he runs those ferts.. I agree with everyone that they look a bit N tox but it sounds like you have that figured out

Yeah, I need those bags lol. They will be here today, but they would have help keep bags from drying out. Not much I can do. I did a little flush, but can't flush too much. @Talonxracer do you use NLS?

Looking good. Always gonna be a learning curve trying new to you methods.
Thanks bud. She is coming back around. The tea last night was happily received. Still a little dark, but she is quite perky this morning. I will post later after I get my bags. Mail usually comes around 2:30 so after that.

If you let the soil dry out all the good stuff is now dead, I would get some Recharge in there soon.

Yes, I use NLS Autoflower Concentrate and their Flower Power amendment. I have used it with FFHF soil and it was a tad warm(hot) I can just imagine how hot with FFOF. I no longer use ANY ff product.

But I still use NLS autoflower concentrate. I make my own base "potting" soil, equal parts coco, peat, compost(com lobster) and earth worm castings all mixed with 30% perlite and then the NLS AF concentrate. I also add in 1/4cup DE per gallon of soil and BAS Montana grow Si amendment(per directions). I add the Flower Power amendment(top dress) about halfway thru the stretch and flowers are forming. I do add some Recharge and Bud Candy during flower, but other than that it is water only.

OK, I wish I would have had HF not OF. I was a little naive about adding just pro mix. How do use NLS, super soil, mix through whole pot, top dress? Recharge, what is that? I've seen it around, I thought it was to re-amend soil. I gave them GFP tea last night, and their body language is telling me they liked it lol.:woody:

Stay lifted
