Heya peeps
Got a couple of the current testers going, a big thank you to Stan and the peeps at Mephisto Genetics for the awesome opportunity!
I dropped a whole slew of these, dropped another tester, Ménage a Tyrone as well but pretty much bungled the whole drop.
I may redo the whole but in the meantime lemme run thru the introduction.

strains- meph genetics mbap and sour stomper x strawberry nuggets

medium- 2gal pots with a mix of roots organic original soil and miracle grow performance organics soil

nutes- roots organic terp teas, veg tea and bloom tea. Recharge and Bigfoot for bennies. Tru organic calmag.

space- in a 4x4x6 tent as part of a perpetual grow

lights- combo of autocobs and qbs

so that’s the setup. both seeds popped on 3.19.20.
now the terribleness.
I have managed to both overwater and blast them with too much light. All before the end of week 2.
noob. wad.
they appear to be getting over it but both have already started showing sex. I fear I may have shocked em into that awful early flowering.

the setup will remain the same if I do end up redropping these guys, and if I do I will update the journal to reflect it!

Are you leaving them in the Solo cups? If so, rootbinding will often cause early flowering. How many Autocobs and QB and how far are they away? What are you currently feeding them and how often? How often do you use Recharge? What are the seedlings in cups in a clear bin? Do you have good airflow and temps? I can help you out, I see a few issues by the pics alone. But if you give me some feedback I can really help you out more so I have a better idea of what you have going on. In the meantime, get a fan blowing on them to help dry the out quicker if you dont have one. Lay off watering. Use your hands to pick up the pots when wet. Then you know how it feels. When in doubt, pick up your pots and feel how heavy/light they feel. If you are planning on NOT transplanting, let me knowm. Good luck, slow

Wow!
I looked in here in afn and saw this response and thought I was dreaming lol.
Thx slow for the response! Lemme toss out a quick update and answer some of these questions!
In no particular order...
The 4 I’ve kept have perked up a bit, due in part I’m sure to raising the lights and backing off the water lol. I’ve started torturing em tho so they’re being silky but that’s to be expected a bit in my limited experience. Those 4 are growing in 2gal pots now, they used the solo cups to do the intsatransplant thing.
Now the setup is the seeds go under the autocobs, I start around 32-34” and adjust as needed.
There are 2 tower fans in the big tent, the seedlings are getting nice indirect airflow and all 4 are swaying in the breeze a bit.
The clear bin is where I had all the seedlings just for ease of moving and such, but I’ve tossed half the seedlings by this point.
The one big issue I have is that I don’t have a humidifier and the rh in the big tent is stupid low. That’s affected all the seedlings but I just deal lol.
I’ll have some pics up Wednesday for my weekly update!
Thanks again man, and keep the feedback coming! Please! Lol

If you don’t have a humidifier just mist the plants with water. every chance you can. It helps.
cheers

Ok, first issue. Instatransplant method drives me insane. It is the cause of many peoples problems or reduced yields. A proper transplant is superior in every fashion, or better yet start directly in final pot. The double cup method traps the roots, causing rootbinding...even if minor it can effect plants outcome. It also traps water in, causing more over watering symptoms. Can it work...sometimes yes and sometimes it is the root of all evil.

Sonovwrwatering is your main issue. Not sure how you prepped your Soil, but I am guessing it was overwatered from day 1. New plants have zero root system. Roots seek moisture. Excessive moisture will slow root growth down tremendously. Different soils hold water differently. But less is more with seedlings. Starting seeds in cups means you need to transplant at the right time, or youncsn have issues easier. I seedlings in the background pic and can tell they have been in cups too long. Once they are in cups too long, your problem has already begun. If you choose to start plants in cupsx they need to be in the finsl pot by day 14ish to avoid issues, such as hunger or rootbinding. The plants will have s nice enough root system by day 14 to transplant. I can tell by the way those seedling are that they are older than 14 days and are rootbound. If you feel more comfortable using cups to start seeds we hsve to get you watering correctly. Bottom feeding is the best way to avoid over watering. Or use a spray bottle. Watering from the top too much, EVEN ONLY ONCE, will often effect plants. If you start seeds directlyx you prep your pots a couple days ahead of planting. Then do NOT water for the first 7 days. Plenty of moisture in the soil. Then when you do water, make it around the OUTER EDGE. Using a small cup and going lightly at first. Increase as plant grows. Let the roots seek moisture. You will see the differnce if you do it this way. Everyones environment is different, but your plants are overwatered by a lot snd it is your main problem. Fix this first. Dont water the cup area much til your plants start drinking water better. Good luck, slow

Where were you like a year ago lol.
I’ve got the water and lights under control I think. And most of the things you say I’ve picked up already, just made a few boneheaded mistakes.
Now as far as the instatransplant goes, what you say makes sense and I pribs will skip that step in the future but what’s done this round is done.
I’ve already bent the sh!t outta all 4, and at this point Im content to let them go.
Worst case scenario I grow them so bad they all explode or something.
Best case scenario I get some smoke and learn another valuable lesson or three lol
