Dutch Passion Mazar with the Solar System 550

thats going to be some nice smoke. buds look dense and frosty. easy trim job,

You're gonna love growing Orange Hill SB, done 'em before on my first rwdc run and they were huge. Better still, fabulous smoke.
I suspect your green thumb will do wonders. Can't wait to see that diary ;)

I'm always amazed at how high you're able to run EC. It's mind boggling actually. Common sense would suggest the supercharged air and hydro would force you to actually lower the EC.

Have you given any thoughts at using RAW nutrients? As they suggest, it's not a supposed to be a full line of nutes (though they can) but as "herbs and spices" to compliment any nutrient line. For example, you could dose up P late veg and early flower to induce more side branching and flower sites, while adding only that extra K week 5 or so, to burst bud production… instead of good ol PK which is a fixed ratio. In your hands I suspect you'd be able to out-do yourself even further! Contrary to stable mixed solutions, RAW is able to provide plant ready available stuff, like for example Silica, or Ca which are extremely difficult to intake directly. I've seen RAW around but never gave much thought to them, but after watching a few youtube videos (search Harley Smith) I was actually quite blown away at the potential.

Final question, how on earth can you spot a male before it sexes? Again, I've alway been intrigued at your ability to read plants mate, hat's off!

yeah man i reckon the skunk#1 influences that.

@Groff

easy mate. hope your good

not gonna lie bro after i smoked some tangie i decided i needed some orange in my life absoloute lip smacking sweet citrusy tangerine/orange a bit like orange tango with a back note of creamy zesty lemon diesel haze still burping oranges 2 hours later lol topshelf. pretty sure orange hills are along the same lines. smoked a few orange skunks last year but nothing as good

im using a 3 part mix mate micro - grow - bloom.. im talking pure base ingriedients npk with micro cal/mag/iron etc bit like gh 3 part with added pk @ what ever ratio i feel. 9/18 13/14 etc.
at the minute im just using the standard grow ratio for simplicity and a result + pheno hunting. my nutrients come as a paste and you need to add hotwater to dilute and activate. many ofvthe pre-mixed brands like canna and vita link have been sitting in their bottles for months on shelves in grow shops in direct light etc but certain nutrients dont last as long as others and break down before the shelf life with genesis im getting the freshest possible mix

i have cuts that can take some serious feedings on the standard feed schedule and would easily take my ec meter off the scale but its all about the ratios like you quite rightly said at the right time of growth and a 3 part nutrient lets you choose your own ratios

also cause of hydro the nutrients are readily available to the plant which is why you get explosive growth plus increased oxygen around the roots.

as for sexing mate. pre-sex in veg. ladies will show about 4-5 weeks anything with a stem and the grinch's fist on the end gets ripped.

what you been smoking bro anything i should be looking for?

@seymour-buds,

Been doing something extremely interesting. The only thing I dont like about smoking canna is that sometimes my heart bursts triggers my tachycardia condition. Absolutely not dangerous, but I absolutely hate it. After a gzillion years I found out that high CBD helps alot, but better still … not to smoke the tabacky!! Seriously! It was the tobacco all along, and I am (was) a regular smoker. Always thought it was the canna… it's the interaction.

A friend introduced me to e-cigs and I was immediately sold. I am now virtually tobacco free, and never been easier. I soon discovered that making canna infused e-cig liquid is not difficult and gets you proper high (if properly decarbed). Unlike regular vaping, which is very nice but I've never gotten the same big puff, hit and float effect the we oh so love. The only downside is I've not done it with top nuggs but pop-corn and trim, so the taste is not really there yet, and the glycols do get in the way a little. I suspect when I do it with proper resin packed buds things will change significantly, and more terps will be carried along.

I highly highly recommend everyone try this. Despite what I said, THC infused e-cig liquid is bloody amazing. I feel so much better, the high is so much nicer, and even the taste becomes better. Bloody tobacco really does imprint into your brain. Once you get off it, and taste the real thing, it's fabulous. Tastes very much like vaping, except you get that proper throat hit and you can get pretty f*ckin' smashed out your brains.

Can't comment really, not been growing much this past year. Life stuff kept me away and travelling a lot, so I stuck to the one strain I know fairly well. photo Night Queen. Easier to manage as photo's are not "ticking time-bombs" like auto's. I've been investing my time more into plant nutrition, how to further automate my grows, and how to get dial in climate better, like setting up temps and RH based on VPD, testing sealed room conditions, etc.

I might do Glueberry photo next though. Very interested in tasting those american strains to see what the fuss is all about :smoking:

That, or go back to OH as I do love the citrus taste… but then again I also miss Blueberry… I really should start keeping a few more reserves :crying:

Good shout on harely smith bud. Been watching a very Informative video on the tube. Maximising grow room efficiency.
I HIGHLY recommend u check that one out first SB. Some incredibly interesting stuff talk about and explained. Which is the important thing. It's nice to understand WHY we add what we do. And the funny ting is, he's not evening talking about grow cannabis in particular.!! Check it bud.
Again good shout @Groff.
I like Sbuds use Genesis. They ARE the SHIT.
I've gotten into adding along with calm and silicon, senzyim bud candy and voodoo juice from advance nutrients. Adding amino acids extra carbohydrates and benifical bio stimulates in super small doses is really making a difference, no doubt.

And also if u get chance and want try some American gentics . I would recommend tangie ghost train seeds from little chief colabs. Tasty strain for real.
Peace

@xeno - yeah mate, what really stood out to me was his obvious passion, plus he even advises people NOT to buy a product or two :crying: because if you don't use it right it's not worth it, or if you don't time right, something like that … I've downloaded all the videos to digest better, was travelling… it's a serious crash course in plant nutrition. And the way he explains stuff, it's brilliant.

I'm running out of Dutch Pro Autoflower Bloom A&B.. which I've been using now on photos and don't see a lick of difference, even auto's didn't notice anything special. Having said this, I love these nutes. Extremely weak, so EC always "off the charts", but also extremely forgiving and saves time not obsessing over precise EC measurements.

I'm looking into taking it up a notch. @seymour-buds @xeno - These Genesis nutes, they're the same principle as GH 3-part right ? Grow, Bloom and Micro… so what is the difference between them?I'm a little worried about the whole activation thing. My current system pipes and gravity shut-off valves, and I'm a bit worried about gunk issues. In DWC or RDWC the whole water is always in turbo mode, but with my Alien system, it's gravity fed.

SB, by the way, meaning to ask this for a while. Ever tried the Lucas formula?

I'm close to buying new nute and I'm completely undecided. I'm using coco, and I've alway had amazing plants without much effort. But Canna Coco is only A&B, no separate veg/bloom bottles. I think I remember reading on icmag that Cana Coco was actually very close to the Lucas formula… hold on … ah found it !:bighug:

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=251463

Anyway, any sorry about the rant. Just hoping to get some insight here on how to up my game

genesis nutes are pretty clean mate as a straight feed i just use the base a-b-c but dont get me wrong i totally understand additives and what they do and also the effort that can bring but ill happily put my hydro grown bud next to anybodies for flavour and high but thats where gentics come in...

im pretty sure we could all right essays on nutrients and plant uptake but for me its 100% n-p-k ratios and micro nutes and all genetics will have different likes and dislikes

the thing about activating your own nutes means you can use what ever water you want... i.e if your feeding your plants r/o just use r/o etc to activate

personnaly my biggest hurdle is stabalising and feeding trees in a 20ltr dwc i wanna go modified waterfarm.. plants suck water up so my aim is always to keep them standing as straight as possible including side branches

lucas formula is just micro and bloom which means its lower in nitrogen. genesis recommened micro / bloom for explosive root growth the seedlings want more pk and lower n then introduce veg @ week 3-4 for faster vegative growth although never really had a problem with my roots also this stuff can be used in any system.soil/hydro/aeroponics / run to waste and coco2 although i do think they do a coco a+b

day 49 12/12

been a pleasure to grow this pheno although their are probably better 1s in this offering. the aromas have been really enjoyable along the way and i wouldnt say there has been a bad one but now she is in full bloom she's screaming sweet sweet citrus top note with a backnote of heavy diesel/fuel goodness ,the yield on this pheno looks average. my fave kush x skunk is uk exodus x sfv og

start of week 7, ive already been boosting this girl since last wednesday at 3ml per ltr so im thinking of putting her on a straight flush from this wednesday for the remainder of the grow.

started the mazar on her flush today and the aromas coming off this plant are pretty dank.

first you get this loud citrus blast that smells like orange but then before you can follow that terp the lemon kicks in with this back drop of heavy burnt diesel/petrol mixed with that sweet sicky kinda smell thats also a bit creamy and your also getting hints of that stinging nettles and piney

personally the lemon diesel/ fuel / petrol is easy but its the citrus aroma that gets your mouth watering.... id like to ask dp from which line did that citrus originate was it the skunk or the afghan parent cause i wanna grow that .

from what i recall from the original pre 90s skunk the original was split into 2 different lines sweet skunk and roadkill skunk.

sam the skunkman ran with the sweet skunk hence his sweet island skunk line as he thougt the roadkill side didnt suit his needs however the the exodus and her sisters are said to come from the roadkill side..

never grown the sweet island skunk but i love the rks side id like to know what side of the sk dp use in their crossings. must be the sweeter leaning skunk....

heres a few pics of the mazar week 7.5 12/12. not easy to move around the grow room at the minute without stinking the street out. cheeeeeese...

i tried to open her out and create bigger colas but for some reason this pheno didnt respond to well to that method. im pretty sure she would of preffered a straight christmas tree style grow

i didnt take any cuts from this 1 as i have no doubt their are better phenos to be had although this 1 smacks you with a loud citrus top note and an unmistakable diesel/fuel backdrop but so many more terps in the mix.... doesnt look like the yield or thc is anywhere near the lvl im after but again could be pheno related.

still another week and half to go although the window is open if you want cloudy with about 10% amber trichs

cant really fault the l.e.d lights again they performed a result. im sure by now ive covered the cost of these lights in terms of yield and im practically growing for the cost of leccy and nutes.....
