After researching quite a bit which includes watching videos on youtube as well I still find myself not 100% sure of the proper technique to dry and cure.
It seems that I have been reading different techniques used together and have become a bit confused.
Could someone PLEASE exoplain it in layman's terms.
I find it hard to dry my goods hanging up for i simply do not have an extra closet with the space! I therefor used the paperbag technique in the meter closet. It dried very fast for it was only a small clone i am experimenting on before the rest harvests. It's growing on my balcony and the leaves are now just starting to die off slowly at the bottom of several girls.
Anyway once dry I put it in a mason jar and close it up for 12 hours and than open it up again (burping) followed by closing it for 12 hours again.????????
I have read and heard different amounmts of time that you should burp the jars for every 12 hours. Is there a formula to determine how long you keep them open for. 10 grams equals 1 hour?????

Someone please help me out with this if you dont mind.

The 3 Dutch Passion Auto Blueberry Sisters are up next for harvesting and even though they did not grow to be very big. I am very proud of my first run on my enclosed balcony(Loggia) here in Holland even though we really had a Horrible summer. Especially the first couple of months with very little sunshine.
Anyway,

Thanx Already for anyone willing to give me some advice. Please try to remember you are talking to a newb!

From what I believe once its in the jars unless you see vapour/condensation (the buds weren't fully dry when you put them in), then every 12 hours until no condensation, then once a day for couple days, then once a week. you want the bud to release vapour and reabsorb over the bud but also dont want bone dry/ crispy buds, the curing is done after drying and sees the breakdown of chlorophyll and other nasty tasting enzymes... I made a drying closet from cardboard shoe boxes, seems to draw moisture out of the buds nicely... Dry for 4 days (dry when the stems snap) then cure for 10-14...

Here's what I do. First manicure very well. Then I place on a hanging mesh rack until the buds feel dry, but when squeezed their still spongy; but not to spongy. Then they go into the brown paper bag, here they will re moisten a little but continue to dry out. Watch them closely, you don't want the stems to snap yet. Then once mostly dry they go into the jars. I burp once a day for around 15 mins. So, for me, 4 days rack, 3 days bag, 3 days jar. Perfect every time. Then in the bag and in jar open them once or twice a day and rearrange them. 15 mins out then back in. Your dry times may differ due to rh. Best wishes!

thats a great link nammie  got it bookmarked for when my dragons come down :peace:

Thanx all for your input, did find it but dont have a hydrometer yet and therfor was hoping to get some education towards doing it without but i keep coming back to the title of the thread u posted 4 me. I better go out and find one for under € 20.
Thanx
Anyone in Holland know where to get one cheap?

yeah either a garden/hydro shop should have them, failing that bro flea bay has them for a few euros :peace:

I use the TBM reccomendations...with a caliber III RH guage in the jar...allowing slow drying down to 60-62%RH...At that RH, your herb will burn slowly for a joint or pipe...if you vape (as I do)...grind a nice bud and leave it out on ya tray overnight....vapes excellent.
All stages are important to the flavor of da weed. Simple and with patience, you"ll have good smoke.
Personally, I get my herb to bout 60-62%...then jar for cure with a caliber IIi inside...check daily until RH is stable....throw in a humidipak and seal....my best cured stuff is at least a month...may lose a bit of scent in the long term but increases potency.
