How do you use the the IR light?

Does it go on the same light cycle as the main light?
Or does it go on a shorter cycle?
The infrared is used to wake up and put the plant to sleep.
You turn the infrared on 30 minutes before the main light and then 30 minutes after main light shuts off.
By utilizing it in this fashion, the plant will start photosynthesis sooner and then when put to sleep, the plant can do all the business it needs to in the root structure with the microbes. And this should make the plant a bit more productive and that's what we're after.

edit.................................... I have started a thread on supplemental lighting.

Dear @Marshydro,

Don't get me wrong. I'm not disgruntled because the negotiations broke off. I'm even not disgruntled about the fact it took almost two months of conversation just to find out your boss was offering an even cheaper light in exchange for a 4 year contract...
What I AM angry about it the fact that you pointed me towards MarsHydro.eu for ordering the light I DO need, stating I shouldn't forget about the discount code 'AFN', only to find out there's another better code to be used 'MHEU5' which give people an even better discount. The members here deserve at least the same discount a new customer would get when buying on your site. People here show your products, and that's free advertising for MarsHydro! The AFN code barely covers the shippingcost.

When ordering the light I do need, there wasn't anything that showed the light was out of stock or on backorder and therefor went for it. Only when contacting you after a couple of days not hearing anything from MarsHydro I find out there wasn't any stock and I had to wait another two to three weeks before my order would arrive. I see now, that the webpage has been changed and the product is 'available on backorder'. That at least is a positive note and I'm going to leave it at that.

I'm not going to put anymore energy into this as I'm tired about this subject and will wait for my order to arrive. I will confirm the date it does arrive (via mail) and will expect the warranty to go in at that date and not the purchase date.

With kind regards,

Bob :toke:

It's too soon the show any plant results from utilizing this new supplemental lighting, but here's a video with the system set up and with some PAR figures.

I do think the only downside in using all three spectrums of supplemental light on the same light is all the frigging wiring that has to be managed above the light. That's probably why they includes so many zip ties!:crying:

Thanks @WildBill
Ive been wanting to up my game and thinking I need to redesign the Bunker with a better light setup and think a Bar style light will be the next choice for better light coverage and try some UV & IR too
IL will get a look at your thread now soon after I get back from walking the dog, thanks mate

I plan to eventually move to a bar style light for all the above reasons and one additional.
Bar style lights offer better air flow.

maybe yes maybe no depends on the grower if he has his game on but for the avarge grower i still doubt it
Well, sure it is for the advanced grower!
Even with some lights that have dialeable spectrums, you still have to know when to dial the spectrum and how to dial it at the correct time.

That's just like using an earth box. You have to know how to utilize it properly to have the best results!

If you fill that reservoir too soon, you'll just have a stunted girl.

If someone starts off and wants to grow their own and have never grown anything before, they got a huge learning curve and usually don't have decent results on their first grow.
