Hi all, excited to start this grow journal and HOPE to win that awesome Mars Hydro light. New to growing, this is just my second grow.
My setup:
2x4 tent
2 - Mars TS 600
1 - Mars TS 1000
Smart pots
Pro Mix BX
Advanced Nutrients Grow, Micro, Bloom
AC Affinity 4" inline fan
1 fan blowing across top of lights
1 fan circulating below lights

Current Strains:
2 x Bruce Banner
1 x Gelato
1 x Critical Mass
***DAY 15***

My first grow with this setup was 4 Black Banana Cookies in a SCROG setup. Turned out amazing, these were photoperiod plants. Harvested just before Christmas and got about 100G per plant dry. Did have problems late stage with powder mildew that I fought for last three weeks of grow. Overall was happy.

I bought the auto seeds and they came in, so this is my first auto grow, and second grow period. I have some issues already. Three plants were all started same day. One i just planted this past Monday.

IDK what's with my Gelato, below, it was slow compared to the Bruce Banner and Critical Mass. And it still is small compared. All are same soil and nuts.

My Bruce Banner below is bigger than the others, and seems healthy although I'm getting some leaf yellowing. Problem here is why are the Pistils growing already? This is Week 2.5. It just popped out of the ground on Dec 30. Is this not too early for the pistils? This plant was growing so nice and now I'm worried it's too small to bud.

And below is Critical Mass, it's been a solid little sprout, and just a little smaller than the BB. No pistils on this one.

So this morning I see that both the BB and CM are showing some yellowing on the inner part of the leaves, not the edges. I feed half recommended of the Nuts listed above and also add a CalMag. Are they starving?

I planted the second BB just because I wanted at least three plants, and I don't have a lot of faith in the tiny Gelato.

Any help / suggestions are very welcome. The two big questions are:
1) Why are some of the leaves yellowing?
2) Are the pistils on the BB too early? Am I gonna have a tiny budding plant?

Thanks all.

Tey biobizz light mix soil next run. I and many others on the site get great growth in it. I think your lacking nitrogen which is why your plants are yellowing. I don't use advanced nutrients so I cant help u there. But I would ask around for a feed schedule on here for AN nutes. I use mega crop nutes. Patience is a virtue. How old are these plants? If there only a few weeks old your good and on target. If anything past a month I'd say they're struggling for some reason.

They are just 2 weeks old. sprouted from ground Dec 31.
The pic below is Dec 31. So I think they are growing pretty good for 2 weeks, no?
That's why I'm worried about the BB pistils, too soon aren't they?

And just for fun, this was my first ever grow before this current batch. Tried a SCROG with Black Banana Cookie, turned out pretty good for first grow. The tent was too packed IMO. This isn't even the full view of the tent.

Sometimes autos will shoot pistils that early I personally wouldn't be too concerned necessarily. Being that they are autos they tend to grow pretty fast and as you know from your photo grow when they go hard into pre flower they start to go wild and grow a lot fast. It might be that plant doesn't get huge which could be the genetics or phenotype but I've had plants shoot pistils at like 14 days and still grow to 75 days before finish and be pretty nice I have to post a couple journals to get caught up and I'll remember for sure but I think the toofless alien I just did was like that and I've only did a little bit of early testing but even before that I could tell it was going to be nice smoke and one of favourite autos even before smoking but the testing confirmed. I don't think it's necessarily the biggest deal at this point. Other more experienced better growers may be able to provide more better insight but I think you're still ok at this point no real reason to stress.

That's not bad growth for 2 weeks. They shud take off from here.

The bigger they get the faster they grow. You will know when they stop stretching. Typically autos start showing pre flowers early 3 to 4 weeks usually. if they come a little early dont be concerned. They aint done growing yet.

Excellent, thanks for the re-assurances. I guess I'll have to wait and see with my first auto grow.
I had high expectations for the Bruce Banner based on how nice it was growing. Am really hoping it doesn't max out at 6 inches lol

***Day 16***

Ok, the Bruce Banner is really turning yellow. Getting worried about her. I upped the nuts today. Any suggestions? She looks pretty happy aside from the yellowing.

Critical Mass is doing much better. Exact same feeding for both. Very happy with this plant. These were actually free seeds that Montreal Cannabis Seeds threw in my order. I have two more of these seeds and will grow both of them next round.

Gelato is very sad.... this thing just doesn't want to grow. Runt of the litter I guess.

And finally, baby Bruce Banner planted to days ago after sprouting in paper towel has poked her head out. Yay! Let's see if the BB acts the same as the first one.

So I'm going to gradually keep increasing the nuts. See if I can green up BB while keeping an eye out for nut burn and scale back right away.
Being my first auto grow I wanted to try three different strains at once to see the difference. Boy oh boy, I'm sure seeing a difference in all three. Quite interesting actually. I think I'll learn a lot more this way that if I just grew one strain. I am seeing how they are all reacting differently to the exact same conditions.

I said when I first started growing that I wasn't going to nitpick, wasn't going to spend much time on this. Well I was wrong, I spend a bunch of time every day with my growing girls and love it. And now I'm just caught up in learning what they need to thrive. Fun hobby,
