Lets talk about indoor lighting and canopy management. And like the subject says, this is not a journal. Wish they would do something about the forum name cause its misleading. There was better forum names used before they consolidated indoor forums. Its a pet peeve of mine I guess.
Anyway back on track.
I've been growing for just under a year I think it is. One thing I have noticed is that if you don't do things(top, LST etc) so you get an even canopy and therefore have a dominant cola and side colas that are shorter, then you can't get even light distribution to bud sites. Since you don't want to bleach or burn your big cola you need to keep the light distance high enough to protect the cola. But that means the side colas and the lower branches will be far from the light.
My question is, does that generally mean the buds will be small on the sides? And will they mature slower so you end up harvesting them later? Or do you manipulate your lights so that you can encourage better bud development on the lower level sides of the plant.
And if you do level the canopy off, are your grows better?
