I recently posted that I have a fungus gnat problem. someone suggested that I just go get some mosquito dunks, put one in water, then simply water the plants with that water until they go away. well I did that last thursday, its now almost been a week, and theyre progressively getting worse. Ive got fly paper hanging in my tent (2 strips) and im getting ready to water with this stuff again..the only problem is, im only on day 12, so i cant keep dumping water on these plants. so its been 6 days, but if i keep only doing it once a week, i dont think its gonna help the problem much. any other suggestions? i want these damn things gone! I know that sooner or later, they are gonna start affecting my girls...stressing out, please help!

so, gimme some more info on this..does it kill these bugs quick? will I need to wait a week? not sure, is it something that permanantly stays in my grow room? do i need to take it out an hour before entering every day? cuz i go in my grow room all the time, im actually a little obsessed..haha

will it effect my plants at all? as i said, they are only 12 days out of the soil as of today, so i dont want to ruin all the hard work that ive put forth thus far, not to mention money!

Do these fukin bugs fly or are they crawling on the soil? catch one and send a picture of it.How big are they?

theyre tiny..they fly, and resemble fruit flies..doing research im almost positive theyre fungus gnats

i never see them on the actual plants, they are always flying around or directly roaming the top of the soil, and if i dig around the soil, ill see a couple more flying around the pot..mustve aggrevated them a bit. i hate them, they suck!

Take a breath man, it's going to be OK. Can you explain exactly what you did with the dunks? I had some gnat issues a couple of weeks ago, and after using the treated water they're completely gone now. It does work, but maybe we're missing something here.

when reading about them, their babies, or larvae enjoy feeding on the tiny root hairs on each plant, as well as any nutrients that I may potentially feed them. So even though they wont kill my plants in a day, they still are potentially deadly to my poor baby girls. It gives me a ton of anxiety guys! cant deal with this shit, and not even 2 weeks into my FIRST grow!!

well the first time, I put one donut shaped dunk in a 5 gallon bucket of distilled water. let it sit in there for about 20 hours, then I put about 3/4 of a gallon of it into each one of my 4 plants. They didnt show up for another day or so, then I slowly started seeing them again. The first time I didnt let the dunk fully dissolve, in fact it was almost whole still by the time i used it. This time, i have it sitting in another 5 gallon bucket of ph'd water (6.5) and i swirled it around for 2 days until now, where it is completely dissolved, and looks basically like a bunch of "crumbs" floating in it. Does this make sense to you?
