Lighting Making some LEDs

If you got the light to lighting, just unhook one side of the driver output. Lights go out. Unplug the rig. Hook the loose wire to the negative with an alligator clip/tape/wrapping the wire around meter lead. Put positive meter lead tightly into VDC+ output. Use a short piece of wire as a 'jumper' and hook it the same way you hooked the first one up. Still should be unplugged. Meter is on and in Current mode in Amps or A not Milliamps which is mA. Turn your dimmer down. Now carefully plug it in and the lights should light, and meter should be showing how much current is running through it. Follow my instructions and you should be golden. Driver is the metal box that plugs into the wall. The rig is your whole DIY light setup. VDC+ is the DC+ output from the driver. All pieces and parts together. There are two different kinds of electricity. AC & DC. Alternating Current or AC is what comes out of your plugs at home. Its what normal incandescent light bulbs and toasters run on. DC is called Direct Current and its the type of Electricity used in electronics, modern. Televisions, phones, computers, LED lights...Lol. Batteries also produce Direct Current. So here is some easy terminology based on that. DC also needs to form a loop back to the source negative, and DC circuits will always have two wires...Traditionally Red+/Black-. Those "Wall Warts" in line or at the plug of phones, modems, laptops, video games,etc are transformers that change AC into DC for electronic use. Unlike DC...AC flows to ground and is much more likely to shock you. AC is much more efficient at traveling distances, so that's why AC is what's in the wires over and under the street. DC is still dangerous with bad habits and sloppyness, but is usually less volatile at low power levels.

V: Volts = Voltage
A: Amps = Current
W: Watts - Volts x Amps = W

mA: Milliamps - 1mA = .001A
ACL: AC Line Hot (danger)
ACN: AC Neutral (return)
¥: Ground
DC+: Positive DC Voltage
DC-:andgative DC Voltage

Take a screenshot of my cheat sheet so u will have a quick reference guide "in the field"....Quite literally. If things get weird when playing around, be ready to power down or disconnect quick and you won't have too many problems. I wish electricity was a little simpler, but I didn't have any part in that. Once u start to get it, it will all click. Hard. And then u own it forever, and can help someone else out down the line. Have confidence, check everything twice....Especially as a Greenhorn, and have fun. This is all super basic electric work, and I have faith that 97% of people who can read can understand the basics if they really want to. Which in the future, will allow you to troubleshoot things, add a new outlet next to your bed, build a light like mine from scratch, fix your daughters cell phone charger, etc. Once again, I'm here with any questions and GOOD LUCK!!!
