Title says it all. I have a 600w HPS, with 6 plants underneath it. I can keep my light 10" away and still be at 78f. SO obviously I want to have 95k lumens for all my buds, but I think if I dont LST all 6 of my plants some of the buds will just be in the shade.

SO help me out here folks. What would you do.

Do you think LST actually increases the yeild?

Is it better to just get 1 huge cola?

LST can increase yield quite a bit if done at the right time... Also autos react much differently to LST than photos because of the limited lifespan. What are the 6 plants age and type?

in my experience, if you are limited on height, lst works wonders... i have never done a side by side grow to compare the dif lst makes, but i can say that every plant i have lst'd yeilded wonderfully for the most part... i have about 14inches of head way between soil level and lights... in my situation, lst is a must... if i didnt lst, my plants would def grow into the lights... not only does lst help to control height, it creates an even canopy for maximum light penetration... i say all this, but in all actuality, if i werent growing out of a pc case and height was not an issue, i would probably let them do their thing and be more than happy with a big ass donkey dick cola... ;) but as mentioned, if height is an issue, lst is perfect...

I have a Diavolo that is 23 days old, and a purple jem, russian rocket fuel, onyx, mi5, la diva - all being 5-6 days old. It may be a good idea to LST just to keep them at the same height, what you think?

Edit after seeing post above, I have a 4x4x6.5 grow tent so space isnt a problem. I just want a good yeild for all my plants.

The younger ones should be fine to LST at this point, but try to minimize stress once into flower, it can reduce yield because the plant has to compensate for the new growth force... The Diavolo maybe could be tied slightly to one side for better light but I wouldn't be making S curves with it.... Just my :2cents:

I had to lst this plant due to height issues and it turned out great. I can't help but wonder what it would have been like if I had left it alone. I found It made the side branches grow up more anyway

i just rotate my plants daily but i have 1 Im trying lst on

Yield wise I haven't seen much difference with LSTing autos. I only do it if I get a bush pheno that is quite larger than the others. Then I will tie it down to maintain an even canopy top. That way I don't to raise my lights so high that the smaller plants suffer. Everyone gets even light.

if you are going with fem seeds, i feel (without having height restrictions) you should work on building a large soil bed for your area... then scrog the shit out of em... just an idea...

If you have the space I would do it! :booya: Not only will it probably help the younger ones, it also gives you a fun project that teaches you a lot about how much abuse a plant can take. :peace:
