No, it’s a good idea to defol in veg as well as flower. Defoling during veg will encourage lower branches to reach for the light and become a good top…..this will make a fairly even canopy, instead of a Christmas tree where the one top is close to the light and the rest are way down there…..something like these two….
This is a muchacha in flower, I’m still defoliating her to expose as many buds as possible to the light….

and this is an Afghan x Northern Lights in veg….I’m defoliating to expose lower branches to the light so they’ll reach up….

I prefer to take a smaller amount of leaves twice a week, versus taking a huge amount all at once. Hope it helps, feel free to ask more questions :pass:
You are doing the lords work… thank you

Don't be afraid to experiment, and "break the rules". Observe, see how the plants react and find your way. Sometime you have to break things and put them back together. Like I say - Let's see what happens! It's supposed to be fun.

I love pushing the autos to see how far I can take them. I've had a lot of my "photo only, autos suck" buddies with their foot in their mouths when they see some of the yields I've pulled. Even converted a few.

I looked in on my plants and couldn't believe how much she responded to training. I had only been a few hours and she lifted right up. And now that I have a better understanding of what I'm doing I played with a bit of tucking and I'm just amazed. My wife and I are loving this whole experience and can't wait to start our next run
