Thanks epen!! DiAnno maiden was in a class all by themselves ,true punk music!! Love it..Dickinson has his share of well thought out lyrics that cover history,movies.literature and of course life and death..I grew up with them in the 80's,when music was good,I still listen to the early stuff almost every day.metal died in 1990 !!
 
not a metal fan but maiden would have been my fav.damnit now I gota search thro some old tapes to find the old lucozade advert tune.last song tape 2 side 1 ? hmm il get there.:pighug:

Have a rep slap for that awesome flashback epen !! I never searched for Samson videos/songs.they have/had a maiden type sound!!

ps, I was Iron Maiden Fan Club member No.10 Way back in the day ! I saw Bruce Dickinson when he was with Samson and called himself Bruce Brooce. I know cuz he signed my "cut off"
I loved Maiden in the DiAnno times. Not so much after that. The lyrics are childish now. Nice artwork of eddie though !

I liked the first 3 albums with Paul di'Anno , these days he's put on a bit of timber and gone all balldy. "Phantom of the Opera" is still one of my favorite songs and would go on my desert island discs and love the tempo changes in it, I also love "running free".

Bruce Dickinson is Amazing but I lost interest in Maiden after "Seventh Son of a seventh son" one thing I liked about maiden is how many of the tracks had historical backgrounds in the lyrics.
Edit:- uncanny I just looked up and saw you Di'Anno comment eP. I must admit I saw you mention Maiden and it all started flooding back and I just started writing.
Good to see you have good taste.
Having said that "The Number of the Beast" is also an epic album and I love Dickinson's theatrical vocals which give it such an amazing atmosphere.
The first time I ever heard Maiden was "Run to the hills" on "Top of the Pops", not very rock, I know but I was just a kid at the time.

@arty zan couldn't have said it better!!! I have a few albums after 7th son,that for me was the pinnacle of their music( what does that mean anyway!!)..lol
