Some of you might know and some of you may not ,I have been building a PC server tower microgrow cab.
Inside is a DIY Micro Carbon filter, a DIY CREE CXB3590 COB LED & the tricked out PC case.
Inside is growing a "Amnesia Stone99" from "Autoflower Portal" Gift shop.
If you'd like to see and read more, please click the link in my sig, it will great to have you along for the journey,
It's my first time I've gone this small, so it will be interesting to see how this turns out.
I will also be doing a "Build Thread" in the near future ,with step by step photos of the cab build, Step by step photos of the filter build ,along with some pics of the COB too in various stages.

Sounds a little like the battle I fought for a few years (and still fighting the residual from) out behind my garage with my personal garden arch-nemesis......Puncture Vine
puncturevine.jpg

If you ever see this plant....KILL IT!!!! KILL IT NOW!!!!!! BURN WHAT'S LEFT AND CALL AN EXORCIST TO GET RID OF THE RESIDUAL DEMONS IT LEAVES BEHIND!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok...maybe that's a bit overkill, but if you've ever stepped on one of this plants seeds while walking barefoot after they've been tracked into your house on a shoe, the dog, a pant leg, whatever... then you'll understand that level of belief that this plant is truly evil.

Path
Phew thankfully in Europe it seems to be confines to Southern Europe, so lucky for me I'm in the UK.
The plant does seem to have some medical benefits, just wear gloves if picking it.
  • Cools and Cleans the Genito-Urinary Tract. Dissolves and Expels Kidney and Gall Stones.
  • Eliminates Infections of the Bladder and Kidneys.
  • Purifies and Detoxifies the Liver, Kidneys, Bladder and Gall-Bladder. Natural Diuretic
I have also found a a possible solution to your problem but maybe you already know of it?

Two weevils, Microlarinus lareynii and M. lypriformis, native to India, France, and Italy, were introduced into the United States as biocontrol agents in 1961. Both species of weevils are available for purchase from biological suppliers, but purchase and release is not often recommended because weevils collected from other areas may not survive at the purchaser's location.

Microlarinus lareynii is a seed weevil that deposits its eggs in the young burr or flower bud. The larvae feed on and destroy the seeds before they pupate, emerge, disperse, and start the cycle over again. Its life cycle time is 19 to 24 days. Microlarinus lypriformis is a stem weevil that has a similar life cycle, excepting the location of the eggs, which includes the undersides of stems, branches, and the root crown. The larvae tunnel in the pith where they feed and pupate. Adults of both species overwinter in plant debris. Although the stem weevil is slightly more effective than the seed weevil when each is used alone, the weevils are most effective if used together and the T. terrestris plant is moisture-stressed.

Answer number two in my list then.
I've washed mildewed buds and had good success.
If you bud is mildewy, you really shouldn't smoke it as is.
Following the George Cervantes method is the way to go, if you also have actual bud rot then those part should be cut out and binned.
Your bud is at a late stage and your worried you'll lose some of the heads on the stalked tricomes, this isn't really an issue if you bud is mildewy as it is unsmokebale unless you remove the mildew.
You may lose some tricomes but you will also get rid of the milsew and your bud after drying again will be smokeable.
Not all tricomes are stalked and and even then some of the one which are will survive the process, just be gentle when washing it.
Try just washing a single bud and drying it and have a test smoke , you will then be able acertain weather it is worth your time and effort to wash it all or not.
I don't have mold or nothin just stoned little bugs and some dirt from when my misses rodeo'd her.. Tuff plant she is
A for effort tho
I'll take ya up on the gentle wash of a select few
Was it just me or did I miss the second question
I'd rep slap him for mold concern but I already did

Here are the questions/reason I gave as to why stepside washed his bud as I know of 3 reasons he might have washed his bud, number ! can almost instantly be ignored as I can't imagine stepside not drying his weed properly but I added it anyway because it is a possible reason to for some to wash/water cure their weed.
As for lil bugs they'll smoke fine but you might hear a little bis of pop ans his as they go up lol any one who has smoked bidis (indian clove cigaretes) will be familiar with the pop hiss sounds as the bugs get burned lol.
Not sure what kinda dirt is on them but probably best try and remove it.
  1. to remove excess chloraphyll from bud that has been dried to fast and is harsh when smoking, the washing process removes the chloraphyll and make for a smother smoke.(not so much a wash but a water cure)
  2. To remove powdery mildew by adding hydrogen peroxide to the water and then rinsing with clean water as seen in the youtube video with George Cervantes.
  3. To make stealth bud which has hardly any odor when smoked, which about i read in an article somewhere.

Arty, I wash my outdoor buds to get rid of dust and yuck. I grow in my backyard and I mow it. It usually creates alot of dust. And it does help get rid of critters and such. I didn't know about removing excess chlorophyll. I have had occasion to maybe try the water cure for that. I started washing last year when I had a spider mite outbreak. I really think it brings out flavors too.
