I see Growpito still posting in Missouri groups; honestly I wouldn't mind them giving another shake here. It wasn't a BAD product (my neighbor (a forum member here) tested their product for them for us and he said it wasn't terrible, just.... not the normal status quo lol. I think they just need a little different approach personally. They targeted the wrong market, tough to see commercial growers adopting it.
That stuff looks like insulation.

Commercial growers are flocking to it. It's all they perpetually reusable but still rockwool and that equals precision growing that doesn't require Grodan to haul stuff to a landfill and contains no binders.

They are understaffed and overwhelmed. They need to split their approach and target both commercial and residential growing in general. The stuff is easy to use and hopefully they get where they need to be soon. I'd love to reintroduce it to AFN, maybe get 2x2 flood tables and product sent out, do a competition. It's all future stuff but this is in my opinion the superior hydroponic grow medium for the amateur or the master grower.

See, that surprises me (but good for them though, that's great news!) I haaaaaaaaaaaate rockwool though. We've had sooooooooo many problems with it (probably of our own device, but.... it's not the most user friendly shit out there.) I do like the "reusability" aspect they touted; we actually reuse our coco-coir at work (and I reuse coco-coir at home.) Every little bit that adds up in a grow is a cost, and if you can reduce or eliminate some of that cost, it DOES matter for SURE.

I can reach out to them again, but if you have some closer ties by all means, you have my blessing if they'd want to do some more testing on AFN. I met them through Growers Network by circumstance (we won't go there about Growers Network...)

Maybe we can figure out a way to tie the blogging system into the new testing (I still think the blogs is a great idea for the actual product testing we do here.)

The caveat to growpito is that it is truly a Dutch bucket or flood and drain style medium that thrives with bottom feeding. I've tried top feeding several times and the medium needs time to absorb the water and reach field capacity.

People don't do flood and drain so much anymore. I've switched everything in both gardens to growpito and I save so much on nutrients and water with just mega crop. 25 gallon top offs in a live reservoir, with no waste water ever every 2-3 weeks, has been something to see.

We've talked about them coming back and it's just growing pains for them right now. They want to though and I'd really like to help them bring this to home cultivators.

Part of the product testing "idea" was not just to test products, but to try to help growers be SUCCESSFUL with products, instead of just being left alone to their own ideas/devices. I trust your judgment Damien, if you think it's worth a 2nd go, let's do it. They don't have to be particularly active, we just need someone that KNOWS the product that can help explain nuances or give feedback on issues (I get that, we're forum guys/gals but not EVERYONE understands how forums work, or has time for forums, etc.)

Just about every vendor that left AFN, or told me "we didn't see shit for sales from your forum" is a vendor that REFUSED to actually represent on the forum. Like, we have years of data on this lol. And hands down, everyone that didn't dig us was someone that didn't friggin chat with the growers on here. I mean.... we have the end user. The consumer. No one here wants to get fucked. Or waste money. So we use peer advice from each other on sharing info, knowledge, experiences. Highly anecdotal, but a lot of people are really comfortable with that. And when we can back anecdotes with science? It's no longer stoner science. It's REAL science!

I'm glad to hear that as I hope I can show a more economical way to grow that lets our money go to other things that matter in the grow room. They are some great people with a vision that's very much in line with my own. We have things in the works and the time is coming and I don't want the home growers forgotten. AFN will hopefully become their home and I'd appreciate the opportunity should it arise to help people learn how to use this medium.

That whole second paragraph. People are going to live and die in this industry based on how involved they are with their consumer bases. That home grower could be the next @THC Farms with commercial needs and vendors would be serving everyone's interest to involve them in their marketing.

Let's educate these growers, let's supply them, and support them in a reasonable way otherwise I start wondering if I'm getting snake oil. Let's get growers thinking about quality, efficiency, and sustainability rather than yield. All this is in the best interest of the industry and the home grower and I think companies that are willing to put up or shut up at a seemingly visible loss gain so much more this way.

Growpito... that stuff looks like it could either work like a charm, Or turn into a nightmare in a heartbeat.
Does it work in autopots?
