good morning, have you seen this before in a plant? ma Pickle's a leucite too:coffee:

Seen it in other plants, had a fellow I worked with in a greenhouse that was crazy for it, he took cuts off of anything that showed it. True albinos struggle with the lack of pigmentation to pick up the light they need, think of white poinsettias (probably the most abused plant in the industry; painted, covered in glue and glitter) UGH. Anyway I digress :smoking: But the variegation and/or leucite do fine, and are gorgeous.

Hello All, Ya when the partially "White Black Domina" was a sprout the seed case was locked, and when I removed it with tweezers there was plant guts in one half. She has been half white since. I thought this was the reason and spoke about it in my journal in the photoperiod section under "Me and You and some Black Domina too". Unfortunately my pics of her and all my plants suck (working on this). After the seed case removal I did not think she was going to make it so I did not take many photos until she looked like she would survive. I have googled this condition and have not found much. Maybe it is a coincidence? @RivetGrrl and @Sabelter O Adoob and All. But I will smoke a white bud.

Can you clone here? If the clones show the condition then it is genetic, and something that is pretty rare. There is not much info on it, seems that the condition is more talked about in animal species, and called variegation more in plants. But I feel that this is more extreme than just variegation, closer to albinism but not pure white. The plant world is full of wonders and I am always researching and learning new things myself.

This plant was cloned, all the copies did this but not to the extent that yours did.

Probably more common to see it called "variegation" but in the world of botany/horticulture, we can debate about anything for hours and who the heck knows who is 100% correct in the end?

I once had a spirited debate with a friend in a city park about the proper specific epithet for a shrub, we got some interesting looks by passers by as we exclaimed loudly in Latin
