Well this is just brilliant!
While I was replying to a thread, the screen on my brand new laptop just went dark. It didn't go to sleep because I was still actively using it. They still beeps when I plug and unplug things in. I hold the power button that shuts off and then will come back on with the windows BS sound. But still nothing on the screen.
It was definitely nothing that I've done or in the settings. I think my only alternative is to plug an HDMI cable in for my TV to see if the video card works or it's just the screen.
If it's just the screen, I'll be sitting everything back to as it was when I first got it and then return the son of a bitch! I'm not doing warranty work on a two-day-old laptop and I'm not leaving information on the thing.

The stoner/doom genre is getting pretty expansive nowadays. Back in the day we had Sleep, Electric Wizard, and a handful of others...
Now, there's so many it's hard to write anything original without ripping someone off lol.

Speaking of which... The other day I was riffing around in drop A... Just got a thick, wooly tone dialed in on my DAW... (Managed to somehow replicate it on my early 90s Laney pl-100 too lol) And my wife comes in and asks if I plan on recording the Marshall Tucker song I was mutilating.
Son of a... I managed to turn "Can't you see" into a 17 minute long psychedelic fuzzfest lmao. I may actually have to record it after I look into it's mechanical rights.

Yeah man. Lots of newer stoner bands out there nowadays. Too many sound the same though. Love some good stoner, but like you were sayin, I like more upbeat heavy riff rock/desert style stuff. Hate it when you're jamming and think you came up with a killer new riff only to have someone call ya out that it's something else... All too often!
Have an Orange setup/ Ampeg VT 22 and too many fuzz pedals to count so great stoner tones are tones are easy to get. I use weird settings to try and get a little different sound. Like to run a compressor, but counteract it with a little reverb/slight delay for a more psych sound. Keep most of guitars at D anyway. Need to get into some computer programs, but being old school, still seems to kinda artificial....

Ah @Cerebral Goo ...I meant to ask....have you farted more since your keyhole surgery.......?........

Hubby is Blaming that.......but I can't see how an operation just below your lung can destroy the elasticity of the sphicter...

No notice of increased flatulence after the surgery. If there was, it would probably be an issue and would be put out to pasture

What exactly are you looking for? I can laser engraved pretty much anything. Wood, metal, etc

I think @Son of Hobbes was trying to put the AFN logo on some wooden boxes he had made. He was asking about making a brand and i suggested maybe laser etching a thin veneer to glue up i stead as an idea.

Not sure about your area but the high for today actually happened overnight buddy! Was 61 at bedtime but got up to 67 around 4am and then started plummeting!

That snow lake effect? or from this storm coming through? Supposed to start mid afternoon here, but we're right on the line of snow or ice. Will suck if it's ice as we'll lose power. Have back up heat and got plenty of weed, wine, and shine! Lesmobile (Subaru outback) runs great in the snow

Well it must be the screen. The video card is still working I plugged up HDMI cable to it and it will work.
Best Buy opens up here within 30 minutes!!

This is the first time HP products have let me down! I better not get any hassle from Best Buy!

I will once I record it.

I usually just use my 7 string in standard or drop A, into a green russian, into a Laney pl-100. Delays and reverbs come from a Devin Townsend Ocean Machine.
Once I get the free guitar set up how I want (putting a Seymour Duncan slug in the bridge. Who needs an od pedal when your pickup has that high of an output lol and ordered a new bridge and tailpiece) I'm gonna start using that for my doomy stoner stuff.
