Oh it absolutely does; that's literally one of the reasons we do both of those things in the dark.

The difference between pre-harvest darkness and post-harvest is that the plant is still very much alive pre-harvest.
Intuitively I feel that keeping them as lively as possible up until chop gives the best results. (That said, I do flush for a few days)

Think about your body:
*Stressors such as lifting heavy things can make you stronger.
*Stressors such as food deprivation will NOT make you stronger.

Light being food for plants, keeping them in darkness is in effect starving them.

I think not, insect frass is not just chitin, it also includes poop and insect food debris. It has a lot of nutrients in it other than chitin or chemicals drived from it. It is actually very nice organic fertilizer quite aside from any presence of chitin from molted insect exoskeletons. This is not meant to criticise the Chitosal product, I know very little about it, and have never tried it. However, whatever it does is not the same as what insect frass does, which would be apparent from any examination of the nutrient content of frass. :bighug:
Ah. I stand corrected. Thank you

Sounds like frass has a lot of micronutrients, some chitin, and probably bacteria and fungi too.

Whereas chitosal has no nutritive value at all and only stimulates defenses.

I knew right away that the frass product would wreak havoc on my drip system.

Not these days where I live - the doc wanted my dearest out of the hospital about five hours after a new knee replacement. Anyone who is familiar with the results of this operation will know how interesting that is. She didn't get discharged that early simply because the phsio etc. did not get a chance to meet with her in time. She got kicked out at about 24 hours, and was still in such tough shape that she passed out from pain on the way back to bed from the hotel bathroom that evening. Scared the heck out of me.

Up here, they boot you out as soon as medically feasible, in the words of the nurse who discussed my wife's schedule, "we need the bed". The financial incentives for hospitals in Canada are a bit different than for hospitals in the USA. :bighug:
Wow that's way too fast!

We do have a shortage of beds and staff up here but even so, they made me stay 3 days for my knee and the same for my hip a few years later.

Ya frass is definitely something u wanna topdress or brew into a tea if u topwater it in! Definitely can’t go into a reservoir of any kind! I actually been letting the earthboxes dry out so i can topdress some frass and oyster shell powder since just swapped to bloom! Then gonna water in some worm tea and couple other things I can’t put into reservoirs! Then i will refill them with the MC i been using!

Observations...no tech back up..... ...noted since I started testing the #FingerDabs

Test in the morning and the oils are stiff ...harder to collect on your fingers...

Wait a few hours for the sun to warm up and the oils are much more pliable...easy to collect on your finger tips....

Most grows are Lit...lights give off heat.

If you switch your lights off for 48 hours...your plants are going to be colder.....oils less pliable....so you should in theory leave more of the oil on the bud....not your trimming gloves.......:headbang:

Seeing/feeling the difference for myself.....I did wonder if actually chilling the harvested plants pre-trimming in the fridge might be a step up on oil/terps preservation.....on the bud...rather than on the glove.....

Its close to $5k USD for a proper setup, pump and controller.

Maybe a stonergenuity version is possible with dry ice and a bell chamber.

All the cell walls must rupture during the initial freeze. Just this step at home might alter the drying and cure because it would change evaporation.
