Hell no! Who's doing that? Electric Boat?

I'd like to see an electric powered motor as the main propulsion. You'd have much larger SSTGs*and a bigger battery reserve. The secondary side of the nuke power plant could be simplified to a large degree.
The real question would be, is that new system as quiet as turbine driven system or quieter.

I really don't think much can be done to the primary side. It's not really significantly changed since ol Uncle Hymie settled on a pressurized vessel style of reactor. There's been metallurgy, shielding and rod system changes and improvements. Given some of the efficiency given up for a safer 'sailor-proof' plant, I can't see any large improvements in that area.
There are so many other systems that could be improved. That would be such a stimulating job!


I think it would be cool as hell to work on such a project!

I am not sure who the actual shipyard is, some employment group is running the advert,,,,I did notice its timing starting last week sorta coincides with the announcement about selling the Aussies LA class subs and a new US navy sub program in the pipeline.

It finally flipped to snow here but nothing sticking so far and I'm not complaining !! They're talking 3 to 6 now where I am way more in northern Mass

I haven’t seen them before but will be looking into… that’s the same company that @Fermented_Fruitz recommends nematodes from but he has nothing good to say about pot poppers curious what he says about these

Ive been very happy with the results when I ordered praying mantis egg casings from them

I guess depends on cost and what stage u are at with invader pests! If same cost as the live nematodes i would just use those but if u dont have an active infestation i guess the others may work so u can add a little at a time since they can die off if nothing for them to feed on!

I get all my beneficial bugs from them! They are legit if u ever have issues with an order! I ordered green lacewing larvae at one point and didn’t really see but a few in the tube when i dumped it out so since they were outta more larvae i got a refund and free bundle of assassin bugs in their place since i was dealing with aphids!

Well I was thinking kinda preventive plus if it's really shelf stable it might be nice to have them on hand right there and then. But that's just a thought kinda like how I usually use Bti.
Not unlike wiring a building in new construction get a head start on everything instead of being behind the 8 ball and then you can coast
