Honeywell is great and they are good about warranty swaps! I have that same black 1 u linked! Got mine replaced with warranty and they didn’t want broken one sent back so was able to let vinegar soak in base for a while and whatcha know it started working again so wound up with 2 for the cost of 1!

*edit* apparently i need to pay more attention when i read! Just noticed u said i had the black 1!

Yeah that and will it work with a inkbird controller?

If its not a plain ol humidifier with an analog dial on it then no it wont work! Anything digital is a no go with a controller! All it will do is get power when inkbird turns it on but u gotta go manually make it start working so no bueno! And ones with a built in humistat are nowhere near accurate!

The evap 40 has a mechanical switch and should work with the inkbird.

Lmao i ordered that 1 and it was a piece of shit! I sent that fucker back and got a refund! The humistat in it is absolute garbage!

I have the same one. It's fantastic but! You have to use distilled/RO water or it will vaporize all the minerals in your tap water into the air and leave a white dust. That particular unit has a filter or mineral trap in it to help. It works great connected to an inkbird controller.

Thanks, @InkAddict$. I got my house 30 years ago when they were still affordable with $8k down and a $340/month mortgage. I was looking for a friend recently and there's no way working folk can buy a house now in my ghetto 'hood, and rent is out of reach too.

The house next door to me has not had a full time occupant for nearly 40 years and it is about 120 year old house, it and the barn recently sold for 125k$. A series of owners thought they could renovate the old 3 story farm house, but no matter how many illegals the city slickers have hired and brought up they havn't made a lot of headway, LOL....they need to gut the house, lift and block it up and then replace the basement, then it will be possible to fix the house up and it look correct and not cobbled together, nothing is square or level!
