Lol in the old days I used 2 to 4 foot flouresent, 2 lamp surface mount strip fixtures with 1 Warm white and 1 cool white lamp lamp hung on jack chain and a HPS for budding in a separate room lol.

ya, if on a budget, fluro would actually still work a treat for veg, but flower time is when the intensity of led is really needed ppp

Worked great for clones and seeds easy peasy had me all discombobulated switching to LEDs had no freaking idea where to set the heights lol . Now every talks PPFD and DLI which is really cool to know.

The good ole days, lol indoor growing has really come a long ways, led's and autoflowers!

We used to let the clones go to say 12" then straight into the budding room . All concerned about light leaks

That's almost exactly how I have done my last couple of harvests. I chop the plant, cut the fan leaves off, then let it hang upside-down. After a few days, when the bud stems start to get brittle, I cut the buds off and put into bags. I don't bother trimming the buds any more than that. I believe someone here called it "grower's trim". Since I use a dry herb vape, I don't need to worry about the harshness of any remaining leaves because I'm just vaporizing the trichomes. I also don't sell, so there's no "bag appeal" to worry about.

Think it was an article some of us were discussing, made up my own label for the stuff I get rid of.
