My fave CCR song is 'around the bend'...

I don't listen to tunes very often. Irritates me that when hubby gets into vehicle the jams go on. I like to hear what's going on around me, could be that since my eyesight is going, that i'm relying on the ears a bit more. He always has headphones on and doesn't hear when things get odd, out here in the boonies.

That started the argument that ended my last relationship before my hubby! I can't do small talk, and with a brain injury conversing in general requires far more computational power than it used to. Music helps me focus, so when I'm driving it is much preferred and especially over small talk with someone who, after being with me for a year should have known better. Clearly that wasn't the only issue, there was a lot of the "you don't love me you love the me you imagine I am" as well (this was right after my tbi so I was dealing with major mood issues and personality changes) and a gross mismatch in levels of necessary physical affection needed on both ends. I forgot where I was going lol but for me music helps with both focusing and also with drowning out tinnitus and the obnoxious loudness of the cacophony of electricity.
