What is the benefit in using MCT oil?
For one, it remains liquid, where coconut hardens.. maybe @Olderfart has more info?
What is the benefit in using MCT oil?
Welcome back! Don't be a stranger!
I gather that MCT oil Is refined from coconut oil... lower viscosity, lower melting temperature. I s'pose I'll need to find a dropper bottle to store/measure it.For one, it remains liquid, where coconut hardens...
I like coca butter too. It is a lot of fat though. But it's not like I'm consuming massive qualities of it either.I gather that MCT oil Is refined from coconut oil... lower viscosity, lower melting temperature. I s'pose I'll need to find a dropper bottle to store/measure it.
So far my favorite oil infusion is the cocoa butter, because it's solid at room temperature. Don't need any tools to measure a dose, just break off the appropriate size chunk.
What oil do you infuse with, @WildBill? Do you have a recipe?
It is highly digestible when consumed. I think it is easily absorbed as tincture, but I am not sure about that. For one, it remains liquid, where coconut hardens.. maybe @Olderfart has more info?
Sure sure Heisenberg@Kyote inspired me to get some MCT oil, and @WildBill gave me the idea with his "a couple drops'll do 'ya" canna coffee. So...
I de-carbed 7g of well-cured Vanilla Latte Auto buds for an hour in the oven at 240°F.
I ground it up in 50ml of MCT oil and infused for an hour at 180°F in the oven.
I strained out the grounds and wound up with 25ml of light-colored oil.
I haven't figured out dosing yet.
I boiled the leftover grounds with a teaspoon of lecithin powder to make a few cups of ganja tea. I drank a cup yesterday afternoon, and was a basket case 'til bedtime. I tried 1/2 cup of the tea this evening, already kicking in. I still have a couple more cups of the tea before I try the oil in a cuppa joe. Thanks for the ideas!

(my wife retired from teaching chemistry, and I found an old case of lab glassware under the stairs)
Sorry for your loss. Most of us in here are survivors in one way or another. We share our rainy days and all of life's stories in here while we share a joint. .Thanks. My good friend that shared his green thumb and passion with me recently passed away. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to being able to talk with others that have the same passion.
The layout has changed a bit since my last visit, but I'm getting familar with the new layout. I plan on starting a new journal and use it to help not only grow some medicine but be therapeutic in itself. Even if no one follows, it will be good to be able to express myself. Something I have trouble doing with those around me.
