Because they will not be ready when the rest of the bud is. New buds at this point don't make a lot of sense to me, but maybe I am missing something. I seriously doubt that the rest of the plant has another couple weeks in her to finish off the new stuff that started all of a sudden.

I would assume trimming them would open you up to bud rot/mold issues. I just leave em alone, personally. Maybe verbally announce my disapproval in the presence of the plant so she knows she’s a bad girl…but that’s about it

Some strains are known for foxtailing.
Sometimes it's due to light stress, heat stress, a combination of both. But generally doesn't hurt the outcome. It just doesn't look very appealing. If you're looking to get high you're going to be fine.
